Same thing here:
http://dsd-guide.com/free-downloads

It's just make an account

I made one, downloaded the FLAC, and highest DSD file, got SACD Decoder Foobar plugin and went to town

The DSD is 'quieter' and so I had to set my preferences to +2dB Gain to the DSD to try to match it, and even then, I'm unsure how matched the two files are. No impressions yet as I was interupted while testing, I'm now doing homework, will have a listen of it later

Project-H doesn't even support 5.2 GHz DSD does it?

Not natively(like most DAC units).

Most people use software based DSD Decoders

Then what's the point of this useless Schiit if software is just fine?

http://schiit.com/products/loki

Oh I guess it's to steal your money. Seriously? $150 for a stupid DSD decoder??

Oh well, this guy is happy.

I've been using Audirvana Plus on Mac. I read that the DSD decoder on Foobar had some issues a while back if I recall correctly.

After being in this entrepreneurial community. It's quite apparent to me what its for.

It's not a scam no. Have you read thousands of stuff head-fi'ers want? Simple, just does it, looks fancy, audiophile-grade etc.

Sure you could use a software decoder, but X has one built in with 'audiophile class' decoding abilities for bit perfect performance.

^ I never said it was a scam; of course marketing is going to win in the end. $150 for a decoder seems useless though. Hardly anyone, even in Head-Fi has DSD files. But it's Head-Fi and the Head-Sheep will buy it up. This is why I don't like business and why I won't get into it.

Aww yess. At Starbucks and they're playing this awesome song:

Don't understand the hype around DSD (or just DSD itself at all).

This is what makes it fun to live where I am. Thinking of ideas that sheep will buy and how we can accomplish it

It's easy to understand the hype. And easy to understand why people want 'stuff', factoring into their material drive. Why we are like this is a bit harder to understand.

No I just don't really know what DSD is right now. Haven't searched it up.

It is more profitable for them for less storage models

Excuse me, what?

Which picture?

Admittedly, I don't play any games on my portable devices, but I still have a lot of them laying around...

More storage=more money.

Youdon'tsay.jpg

If WE the consumers can buy this:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820211662 64GB MSATA SSD for $75

And this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820249030 $115 128GB drive, there's NO way it costs apple $100 to jump up from 16 to 32GB. Plus, more room equals more download space. More download space means you'll buy more stuff to fill up said space.

Haha, well I won't say I love or hate the whole series yet. The episodes I've seen thus far are enjoyable though.

The 8GB model is no longer available on the Play store for $200, just the 16GB at $250.

Speaking of:

Eeyup, that pictures summarizes why I'm getting rid of the Gnex.

And it only took me forever to get rooted!

Then another eternity to get it recognized as a media device!

For sure. Linkedin seems like a fun place. Just got a friend request (or whatever it's called for Linkedin) from my computer tech teacher. I'm glad he did that because I honestly didn't think I'd ever make contact with him again...

You got one?

Not surprised. We should be seeing a Nexus 4 2013/204 soon.

Yup! Quite an upgrade from my Galaxy Nexus! Plus $30/month for service through T-mobile as opposed to $100 through Verizon for the most basic plan.

I'm inclined to call BS personally.

It's the 'format' SACD's use that uses a 'direct' type of audio stream at extreme bit rates to (attempt to) recreate more reliably and realistically the originaly recorded audio

I have yet to do real testing to it. Either real or fake differences, 680MB per song is NOT welcome
