Wait, he sold you his pair?

I'm using my cat as a mousepad right now. She is super annoying/cute today.

I was about to say....it would take more than just death to stop his love for the "worst IEM of all time".

I'd imagine the donut to be like a boston cream donut, but with breast milk I guess?

That's a bit....unsavory....

I like how many VN players we have now!

I'm playing a VN right now and Borisu and Mechy are as well and some of you guys :)

It's nice to be able to talk about VNs with other people, especially since they're not mainstream like anime and manga.

I really enjoyed the music in G-senjou; really nice arrangements of classical pieces that fit the mood. I especially liked "Answer" and "Open your eyes". I don't remember how "Farewell" sounded like though

VN's are extremely popular though. Their audience members are also 'the good kind' for the most part in that its not just general weekend weaboo's doing them.

There are audio pops 70% of the time when voice's start and ends. IT is F******* ANNOYING. It's a small start and end pop. Amateurish recording? I thinnk so

Though if you take away sarcasm from Forum/Skype-Mike-persona, we're left with little to nothing.

(Only because he spends his days trolling on the forum. A bit more serious talk sometimes would be nice! Or at least in this thread.)

To many people, the iBud sounds 'normal.'

I guess by "normal" you mean it becomes our baseline.

I've been thinking about how we all have different preferences in earphone/headphone sounds... and whatever was our "first" pair that stuck with us a long time and provided a lot of listening pleasure, seems to leave an after-imagine in terms of shaping our ideal sound.

In my case, it was the Sony MDR-XD200 and the JBL reference 220. The Sony was essentially A shaped, emphasizing vocals and working fairly well with j-pop and the likes. The JBL also was like that, but a bit more mid bass. Both has what may be considered "soft" trebles.

now if I look at my own DIY stuff, or the new gears I am buying, it seems all of them come back to the same ideas: vocal emphasis, some mid bass but not too much, and soft trebles that isn't fatiguing.

Just wondering what would then be the natural "upgrade" to the iBuds and earpods, since as far as I can see, people coming from iBuds tend to diverge more freely. Then I wonder if that's due to peer pressure from the constant bashing of those frankly enjoyable pieces of free gear.

Luckily iBuds and Earpods both have a lot of (third party) accessories. There are attachments to add isolation or even turn them into IEMs.

The great advantage of having the same piece of popular equipment en masse.

Of course, what it does to the sound is a different matter. Doubt many if any people on Head-Fi have significant experience with those since we seem to shun the white buds pretty badly.

There seems to be more of a following for the Earpods though, perhaps they have some knowledge regarding those attachment.

But wow you folks really do like the Earpods o_o

I love the K3003 also and probably find it as my favorite, if not one of my favorite IEMs of all time (though I don't own one nor plan on)... but the Earpods are so warm and dark. I can certainly live with it, since I'm used to dark & warm signatures but couldn't get myself lining in the hype train. In the respect of upper extension, I'd even prefer the iBuds (the ones right before the Earpods).

Though I'll give it the benefit of doubt; the one I tried was from Japan, used regularly not stored in a AC room like store demos and it gets pretty humid there. If we're talking paper cones, a humid/damp paper cone does spell warm and dark.

Meanwhile I can't talk about VNs to anyone.

Everything I play/played are either older games and/or are in Japanese. The moment we're not talking about English TL VN it seems like there's no discussion at all.

Hmm yeah true enough. VNs do take quite a bit of dedication, and reading one is definitely not as casual as watching an episode of anime. I think if you asked casual anime watchers what a VN is, they probably wouldn't know. I could be wrong.

I just went back to my G-senjou folder to confirm... and wow, Its been over a year and a half since I finished it on 2012/01/08! I didn't even recognize Haru's voice when I loaded up a save file. That being said, I don't notice any audio pops. Maybe it's something on your end?

The majority of the good VN's are English TL's so play a few of the new ones! :) and talk to us yo!

I would say that while its not as casual, you can go at your own pace so it feels more casual.

Maybe. :( But play a few scenes and see if you hear it
