This was the game you were talking about the other day and played right?

WUT? I'm pretty sure I already answered "yes"

I agree on one point though. The best romance anime's are just the average AVN/VN. There is so much you can't do with an anime and millions of dollars pouring into the project with so many backers changing this and that.

Yeah... I'll wait on the VN, no rush. If an anime is based off of a VN, I would much rather read the VN first and then watch the anime if I liked the VN.

The two seasons of the anime consists of only 24 episodes, roughly 8 hours whereas the VN is rated 30-50 hours.

Thanks...Panda no see.

Anyway, Jdownloader f***** up my downloaded files right now so yeah, lost all interest in playing the games now.

Less effort, less reward! Finish G-senjou, even if you skip the side character routes eek.gif

I'm currently just starting Mizuha's :) hehe.

I got my Macbook Pro setup for College yesterday! :)

Upgraded to Moutain Lion 10.8 yesterday for my Mac. Installed my Univ's VPN. And installed Windows 8 Enterprise on Bootcamp

G Senjou is a self contained non installing game(or at least the version I have of it is) so I can just copy the stuff to the Mac and play it that way. :)

@ G Senjou fans

I'm just starting Mizuha's route.Should I play through her route or just skip to Haru's?

I'm at the start of Chapter 4, just past where Mizuha bumped into the MC and now they are making a plan

DAYUM! The English translations for this VN are on the level of near troll!!!!!

Hmm... g-senjou was the first VN that I read, so that was some time ago. If you enjoyed or didn't mind Tsubaki or Kanon's route, might as well read Mizuha's route for the full experience.

On second thought, reading Mizuha's route will make the true route's ending more impactful imo, so go for it.

I've been able to just copy/paste all my VNs between computers with no problems, as long as the computers are on japanese locale.

Edit: what do you mean about the english translation? Been a long time :x

Dayum, people are right. Clannad's release those years COMPLETELY overshadowed this show.

This is probably one of the best pure romances the anime decade has seen.

The anime focuses more on perspective, over looking backdrops, and supernatural yet secular objects as its art direction

High5! The myriad of colors in ep1 was what hooked me in and the rest, as they say, is history

That and the emotional struggles of the protagonists, them instruments and elisa's vocals = win.

Ok thanks! I'll go for it. Nothing else to do tonight

I'm still starstruck by Oreimo so this is setting a nice prescedent for a good night.

Just need some lavendar and roses lining my walls now with pictures of Nicholas Cage hanging over head and my night will be complete. Damn, typing on my Mac keyboard feels so fricking weird now that I'm actually typing a paragraph on it.

The translation of the game was hilarious. Half the characters use teenage shorthand words and expressions when they show anger or or pissed! :)

"Screw that B****"

"Fu***' A that B*** stole my ...."

etc et :)

Ef was excellent. It really really got unlucky with broadcasting alongside CLANNAD. Unlucky twice really, since Melodies was broadcast at the same time as ~AS~.

I'm on the fence of how they presented all the stories side by side. I think the only good way to watch Ef is the marathon each season. The emotional impact is much less for me otherwise. Unlike shows that cover arc at a time where you can marathon an arc. Makes doing proper rewatches of it really hard.

As for animation. It's a bit overly artsy. It works most of the time, but sometimes it feels like cost cutting (which a big part of it probably is).

Also, music is by TENMON. Like Shinkai movies' TENMON.

The anime borrows off the art direction that Makoto Shinkai set. The OP 1 was actually scored by Makoto Shinkai's personal long time friend and composer for ALL his songs. Tenmon.I f**** love TENMON. His OST's in 5cm per second were absolutely stunning.

The usage of contrast, black and white, and super natural yet secular art themes to promote perspective AND pay homage tot he art technique used in the VN itself was just clap your hands worthy.

The VN used quick cuts and focusing sections of parts to characters faces or bodies to enhance and show animation without actually animating the character. The anime pays homage to this AND at the same time uses it to change and as a technique to show different character perspectives and what they are at that moment focusing their attention on.

This is used EXTREMELY often if not every moment in the Bakemonogatari series.

The usage of super natural yet not actually stuck in time moments is also stunning and something Bakemonogatari also does. The only way I can explain this is in how sometimes people wish they were 'gone' from this world. Or if they were angry, that all their power would be driven into their hands into that one punch. Bake and EF use those moments that happen in real every day life of where we focus our attention on other people, and on those 'times' when we want something supernatural to happen as a way of showing what the people actually feel at that moment etc etc.

Absolutely stunning.

Exactly, both the times, it got **** blocked by Clannad. Clannad AS was the better anime in my opinion. But EF would be the better romance.

I'm also on the fence on it. It was stunning artistically but enjoyability dropped with that.

TENMOOOONNN! We need to offer him all our first borns!

Yeah the translations for VNs are a lot more raw than in animes, since there are no age restricitons. Makes it more realistic and fun to read :P

Ahh... so that's why 2:00 in the OP looked so familiar. I loved 5cm per second, and was able to relate to it on a more personal level. The animation in Muv Luv Alternative was better than on any other VN that I've read. If Ef comes anywhere close to that level, then I'd be pretty impressed.

Enjoy reading g-senjou! I'm done with Grisaia for tonight, off to bed I go!
