how does the lack of sound induce insanity? I'd love to be in a quiet room and I'm saying this because I've been in one. wink.gif

dunno about you guys but sensory stimuli induces mental stress on me, that's why I set my wallpaper to solid black.

Because of this:

You start to clearly (though still silently) hear your blood system and nervous system working. That's where idea of John Cage's 4'33 comes from. It's not possible for a normal, non-deaf human to hear COMPLETE silence. There always will be something, even if those are the most silent sounds of our body.

So scary mang.

Human mind is too used to having SOME kind of background noise. If it doesn't have them, it starts to create them. So lack of ANY stimulation of any human sense for a "longer" period of time will cause hallucinations.

^ yeah listen to the audio interview

People get so disoriented upon entry of the room that they request to leave immediately. Even more so when the lights are turned off. I would NOT want to go in that room...frown.gif

A typical quiet room you sleep in at night measures about 30 decibels. A normal conversation is about 60 decibels. This room has been measured at -9 decibels.

Orfield Labs uses the room to test products, including switches that go on car dashboards and the sound an LED display makes on a cell phone to make sure they're not too loud.

I didn't even know that existed!

Yup, I played through the first hour or so on my desktop probably a year and half ago, then tried playing the VNDS version, but determined it would be too difficult to navigate all the routes, (and generally lost interest in mobile VNs) and haven't touched it since.

yep, like I said, I have been in a quiet room. I quite like it in there tongue.gif

the "background noise" you hear in a quiet room actually takes effect pretty fast and vanishes as soon as you talk.

This Claris person did the one OP for Oreimo, right?
I liked that :3
Really not my kind of music though.

You also get "insane" in this -9db room because you brain tries to compensate the lack of stimulation.
That's why you get hallucinations.
It's the same thing with this experiment:

Sounds really creepy.

I'm about to demo Neptunia.

What I've noticed about nearly ALL perfume songs is that

You DONT' like them the first time you listen to them. But....a week later, IT HITS! You then love their songs

I didn't feel anything about Magic of Love or HandyMan but now....dayum I love them

Doesn't work for me, then. At least with JPN. Listened a "good" few times and didn't started to like it, just have two or three songs I liked the most, while the rest was pretty forgettable.

Listen to the two again today. Try again a week later.
