Wow... 1 semester can pay up almost 2 years of my university studies

And is equivalent to 50 months of recruit pay...

And Tbh we went to kinokuniya and I'm really surprised my mom actually went in with us and looked at some of the anime stuff as well...

That's true, but the bass boost makes it less annoying to listen to. :p

Wow really? I just got the Crysis pack since I haven't really played Crysis before. What in the hay are these Steam cards and why would anyone want one?

They are collectibles AND you can sell them. Most cards can be sold for about .40 cents but special ones can be worth more..

Basically, Valve making money.

Valve has a dedicated fanbase who loves them and has a near monopoly on the distribution, and sale of PC Games.

Why not make another 'market' that plays on users wants of collectibility and consumerism?

What Crysis pack? All I see is Crysis 2 Maximum Edition.

What was the better game? Crysis 3 edges Crysis 2 out with better enviroments, story, and facial animations. It's a lot less linear in terms of maps, and how you kill the enemy.

Good god how disgustingly capitalistic Steam is actually dominating the PC* game digital front. Too bad on consoles that would be so hard to do since consoles are not "open" compared to the PC* front. I have to say that while Steam is convenient, I'm more and more disliking it for the fact that licensing deals for regions would mean that some games that I bought while I was in Russia can't be played/installed outside of it. I haven't had this happened yet, since back when I still go back and forth between Russia and Home, I don't have any games that restricted yet. Now I have the "privilege" of seeing that happen later this year in Witcher 2 Complete edition and Torchlight 2, and a few other games that I don't remember...

*PC of course is political correctness**
**this is of course a lame attempt at a joke, and PC in this case, for simplification, includes MacOS X and Linux, however small the marketshare for both of them is.

Ah wonderful. Another thing I won't be using in Steam. -.-

It has Crysis 1, Warhead, and 2 for $20.99 USD. I wish it came with the third one instead of Warhead cuz the crossbow looks fun to use, but oh well.

You have to look in the Crysis 2 Maximum Edition sale to see the collection package thing.

Alas. I can finally say that my computer can run Crysis! Take that you lame gamers! :3

Also this was once told to me:

Mukashi mukashi, there was once a man with 2 [redacted]. He had this one girl he fancies but too afraid to confess to her and shag her. Long story short, his time in this world is cut short and died and resentful man, and haunts the world. For revenge, he now goes around the world, coincidentally parallel with whatever season people get the flu, and shag in people's nostrils. That's where snot came from: a ghost's ejaculation.

I wouldn't say it is disgusting. I do not think Valve is free of its own share of domineering and bad parts of it. Their client and process still has some unsightly bugs and problems with it.

The mass majority of online games sold by Amazon, GMG, and other retailers are Steam Keys so yeah. They pretty much have a near monopoly. The very few direct instal games are oldies sold by Amazon, and EA's Origin and Gamefly's own distro client does not have the clientel that Steam does. So yeah, domineering.

HOWEVER, while they are a monopoly in a sense. They are an enlightened one. They know that if they start pulling a retro Microsoft move of using prices and what not to their advantage, that they will be shot down the hell hole. Why? Because their main clients ARE the ones that post sensationalism, the ones online spreading news on social media, and know what the hell they want.

For the most part, Steam has been pretty docile and letting us get our stuff. However, Steam is not very competetive in pricing of course. They don't need to be, keeping the full slightly discounted prices of games with pretty crappy sales every day(besides the winter or summer sales) is enough to get lots of money without hate. They aren't raising prices on games, they just aren't lowering them typically.

The mass majority of my Steam games were not bought through Steam directly, because their sales throughout the year besides the big ones suck and feature the general discounted retail price

That actually(region) is not at the fault of Valve I believe. I do not have eyes that see everything, but its usually companies in select countries that impose 'new' lisencing options for select games. Poland is one that generally gets brought up as one that has companies lisencing and region locking specific games making them un buyable.

This 'open' PC world also thus has its limitations as the set in stone policies are NOT created by one company but many using world laws to do whatever they want. Consoles, such as Sony and Microsoft however can say(and did) say no region locking and every game abides. (lisencing companies in select countries will still have the ability to be the only seller of the game in that region, but you can just purchase a game elsewhere then)

If you haven't played the Witcher 2 yet, that should be high up on the list smily_headphones1.gif
