Is Eren's father still alive? In episode 3 I think it was, someone said "to" his father that he's finally a soldier or whatever. I thought it was his trainer commander who said it too. Why is it that in episode 09, he is against Eren? If he knew Eren's father, wouldn't he know a little bit about Eren?

We don't know. Manga hasn't really progressed much. Think we're about to find out though.  Might take another year.

Maybe the LCD-2 is just too dark for your tastes though I really don't agree that there's roll off in the vocal region but I will say that vocals can sometimes sound too thick and too rich in some tracks. Though I can't complain about that wonderful bass.

On the LCD-3 though, I just can't justify its price even if sonically it's like a fixed LCD-2.

I disagree with the vocal "roll-off" too. Thick? Definitely. Roll-off, nope.

+9001 to the HE-500. Great headphone, but the 9 kHz spike bothered me too much to enjoy it. EQ it or get a warm tube amp (e.g. Woo Audio WA3). I definitely like it over the better textured, but extremely congested LCD-2 and inherently LCD-3.

Ok now I want to try the HE 500

Maybe I should bother Hifiman!? cool.gif

How does one even ask for a review sample?

"Hey there Stax. I do reviews on my YouTube channel and Head-Fi. Want to trust me and hand me a $2000+ combo unit to review? Kthxbai."

I don't ph34r.gif

I don't do what others do an actively ask.

I actually just sit around and wait for people to ask me about it or join entries on it.

You must have very sensitive ears then or do I have a problem with my hearing?

I really don't find the 9-10 kHz spike bothering, not like the DT-880 which can be bothersome in long listening sessions. What I would say about the HE-500 treble spike is that it adds a bit of air to the sound and helps with imaging somewhat. It's smooth and comfortable to listen for a long time. Though that is with the velour pads paired with a Schiit Lyr. Paired with a portable amp though, I agree its treble spike can be a bit bothersome that's why the pleather pads exist just to tone it down to tolerable levels.

the LCD3 does a brilliant job of isolating the vocals.

I don't remember if the LCD 2.2 did this but man the LCD 3's do a good job at seperation.

Really good at it.

You can ask the company directly or go to the threads w/ such programs. Can ask Muppet since she does them I think.

OH SHIIT!!! I FORGOT QUOTING SHOWS SPOILERS ARRRGGGG.
For once I'm glad I'm dyslexic, I couldn't read it fast enough.....

Yes, that's the compressor / limited.
All rack-mount effect units are sexy (as opposed to software ones)

I am sensitive to upper mid sparkle.

This means that most sub $80 headphones make me mad.

I realized this after I noticed that even the most well known reviewers don't mention the sparkles I was always mentioning and ranting on.

I've noticed that for a long time on Head-fi the unread posts thing doesn't work anymore. When I go into a thread and click on for example "16 unread posts" the page refreshes but is still on the most recent bottom post, and it no longer says that there are any unread posts. Has this happened to anyone else or is it just me?

You will be even more surprised with the HE-500. Its instrument and vocal separation is almost on par with the LCD-3 thanks to its elevated treble response.

Although in terms of build quality... the HE-500 is way below the craftsmanship of the Audez'e headphones.

If you like the DT880 then I'm sure it's you liking that kind of bright sound since the DT880's are notorious for being bright, brighter and more analytical than a K 701 in the "big 3" original audiophile headphones (DT880, HD600, K 701).
