Denon's headphones feel extremely cheap, like a toy. Someone at the Seattle meets brings their D7000 and I always treat them like brittle glass.

Yeah, I guess either the D5000 took some punishment from the less than gentle taxi rides or people were just not being as gentle as I normally am. Either way, I'm going to contact MCA about a repair and a set of either Macadamia nut, Mun Ebony or Cocobolo wood cups while they're there.

  • Heir Audio Tzar 90 and 350, very much enjoyed these. Is it true that the 90s are V-shaped and the 350s are stupid anemic/upper-mids-y?
  • Heir Audio 4Ai...meh, not enough sparkle for me. Heard the UE900s? Those had way smoother treble and retained the sparkle - though I found both pretty sparkly.
  • The RE400...boring IEM and less detail than the RE262. Much preferred the RE262 and I feel the RE400 is very over hyped. Get the chance to try the RE252/272? Better sig tuning IMO.

I absolutely loved the HE60 and they repaired the HEV90 specially for the meet.

As Bowei said, the 350 are sharper on the treble, I didn't find it a problem, but my favorite Heir IEMs are the 5.0 and the Tzar 90.

I didn't bother trying the UE900. The 4Ai was just meh...

The RE252 and 272 weren't there.

I didn't care for the Tzar 90 and 350. The sparkle at the upper mid of the 350 killed it for me. It created more fatigue and harshness. I prefereed 4.ai as that is what I wanted. More neutrality without something 'sticking' out.

Swimsonny also does review samples etc etc.

Jude was in London for the Head-Fi meet.

I really liked the Tzar 90. I like quite a bit of sparkle to my treble.

Swimsonny's table. OHMAHGAWD.

Shame.

Even more of a shame.

Back. Was at a car wash to raise money for a tennis trip, speech/seminar about college and high school, and was at Kohls for a bit.

Damm nice meet!

What did happen to your Denon's?

How was Jude? Did you talk about us? Not sure if Jude even knows of our threads existence but ehh.

How were the people?

Who made the Head Fi bands? I'd buy some

Oh right, heard about that.

I think the Denons just got rough handling as they were passed from rig to rig(ie, normal handling for most headphones).

Jude knows of all the threads. He was talking about how some threads have become part of the character of head-fi now and specifically mentioned Muppetface's Diary Thread and it's off-topic meandering, so it's safe to assume he knows about the AAMML thread, in any case, he recognised my Head-Fi username.

The people were great, very friendly, fun to talk to and geek out about headphones with. :)

The Head-Fi bands were brought over by Jude. there were quite a few left so they'll probably be available at the next meet Jude attends.

Yo TwinQY, since you'll be around the area next week, you should check out this ramen restaurant in Bellevue.

So oishi!

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

His gf's parents shotgun marriage at the end and I put my bets that the next 5 chapters or so will the protag deciding to getting married with Yuzuki. The meaning of manga is really losing the plot.

I'm really starting to think that there are NO HE/HEV90 owners in Australia. This will change soon. wink.gif

That is glorious.

Always up for ramen. Always.

...

Always.

What's the name? I'm not sure when GG is departing so hopefully there's some time in between/afterwards/beforehand when I can sneak out to take a bite.

Vancouver ramen is nice and all but after going to Canal City....But I do love Hokkaido style. Ramen Santouka and Kintaro are fairly nice as there's plenty of immigrants here and the audience laps this sort of stuff up.

Are the Denon's that..fragile

You aren't really just AAML only member.

Aww...I wanted one.

the shotgun wedding part miles away. They put WAY too much into the practice one that I was betting that it was going to just deflate quickly with quick acceptance.

Why do you think that?

It's called Kukai. The shoyu broth is really rich but kind of salty. The tonkatsu one is lighter and cleaner. They also offer low-sodium broths so that might be good for the shoyu.

One of my old friends from elementary school works there. Ah I still remember him when he first came here not knowing English. smily_headphones1.gif

There's a Menchie's froyo place right next to it too. Alternatively you can go to the UW Seattle and get U: Don or Samurai Noodle (ramen) and Yogurt Land afterwards on the Ave.

@Bowei, just saw the /r/audiophile post on project H, clearly redditors can't be arsed to read posts...

Read the comments too

Why did they downvote me?

  1. They thought I was selling the damm thing
  2. I responded with a 'sure' to one dude as I didn't know what else to say. Begin the downvotes

Besides that. I am baffled at how many downvotes I got when I did nothing wrong. And worse is. People don't say anything.
