Watching it raw to practice Japanese. I plan on watching all >237 eps over the next few months, but I'm not quite sure I'll succeed.

What was it that you were talking about on facebook the other day with approximating pi?

The approximation of pi thing? I used Monte Carlo integration.

That is, you divide a (usually) square area up into two parts using some function. Then you place a HUGE amount of uniformly distributed points in the larger square, and for each point you check whether it is in the area defined by the function. By finding the ratio between the amount of points inside the function's area, and the larger area you can find the area of the function.
Oh holy Crap that sounds complicated and difficult...

I personally learned basic English through playing games. It all started with pokemon Silver, and I learned crazy amounts of vocab just from that game when I was about 7 years of age. cool.gif
That has to be the best way to learn English that I've ever heard...

Being the glorious British Commonwealth member that we are, and obviously rating students' worth with mundane, structured exams that the teachers themselves instruct students how to game the system, I browbeat myself into mastering English for 3 years for nothing since every ******* ******* in the country thinks I'm a ******* try-hard blood-traitor for trying to master the still-current lingua franca. **** you Malaysia (I still love the food though).
Ehh, that Ever17 pics looks like the run of the mill VN stuff. What is it about though? I think I remember something that ImperialX said about it (can't be arsed to remember it though).

Translated word contents are different from subbed voice contents that I will be having no idea of the original contents... Translation has its limits.

Speaking of Malaysia, my backup uni is there... might actually end up studying there for a year or 2.

It's the best VN ever.

Telling you why would spoil it.

Though it's not perfect.... IMO.

Not that it matters anyway since I won't find any free(r) time to read it. Again I reiterate, it looks run of the mill. Sure, don't convince me any other way other than "It's not run of the mill".

Where would that be?
Again, saying "it's not run of the mill" or "it's the best ever" is not convincing enough. I mean, who the hell expect that when pushing Madoka Magica for example to someone that dislikes mahou shoujo by using only "it's the best" or "it's not run of the mill magical girl show" is going to make that person watch it, without some hooks like "characters die for real in it" or "real mindscrew happened".

I'm a bit cranky since this blog post is shaking my belief in kyoani (the pessimistic belief): http://vanishingtrooper.wordpress.com/2013/04/27/guest-post-by-yuyucow-for-an-internet-free-of-kyoani-myths/

I basically read light novels and watch anime in raw nowadays. Its not really difficult to learn.

Btw I'm from Malaysia... have been in Singapore for the last 4-5 years though.
