not to mention I don't even know WHY they're fighting so I'm unable to take a side.

"I don't even know WHY they're fighting so I'm unable to take a side."

That's kinda the whole point of every Gundam series...

Also seed's early story carries so many elements from the original gundam that I guess the writers just thought everyone would already know half the story tongue.gif

5 eps into Gundam Seed and I am B.O.R.E.D.
There's minimal ZERO plot progression NOR character development.
The MC is being all whiny and this chick is acting like a beaoch.
What I got so far is an action scene that lasted more or less the whole of this 5 eps.
This show better get good real soon.....

TBH, The only thing keeping me here is the god awesome OP/ED and OSTs.
Ehh. It gets up again

So I went to Jaben to test out some interesting products that they currently have in stock.

They first gave me the Final Audio Heaven VI-CG IEMs to listen and these are my first impressions:

-Very good build quality and nice elegant design

-A warm sound signature with polite treble

-Lovely midrange with emphasis on vocals

-Great bass for a single BA. Tight with moderate impact

-A surprisingly wide soundstage

-Good detail retrieval and good instrument separation

The only downside is the cable. It feels quite fragile and it's prone to microfonics.

The second on the line are some pair of AKG Tiesto K67 Headphones and my first impressions:

S***, boomy bass. Recessed (almost non existant) and thin midrange. Crap treble.

BLEUUURHGHHHGHGH!!!!!!

Funny fact, Jaben told me it's their best seller... WTF?????

Then I talked with some members from the Audiophile-Indonesia forum and he let me try his HE-5.

HifiMan HE-5 (Wood Housing) with ALO Reference 16 Cable (Stock cable is broken)

It is much, much lighter, like half (even more) the weight of the HE-500. Sounds surprisingly familiar to the HE-500 but with a more present treble, less refined bass, rolled off sub-bass and mids aren't quite as the level of the HE-500. But still, for their first planar launched in 2008 it's a remarkable and excellent achievement.

After that I spotted some Logitech UE900 and absolutely need to try them. I'm very sad to say that I was disappointed. It sounds... muffled and boring. The lows are very good and very punchy but the vocals are muffled. It sounded like someone singing while having a ball gag in his mouth. I don't know if it was the fit or the seal that caused it but it let me down, very much down.

Last one to try before I needed to go was a pair of Denon AH-D600. Honestly, it doesn't sound as bad as the measurements in Innerfidelity but it didn't sound good either. It was a bit bassy and not very good bass either. There's no shine in it, no excitement. Just the sound of *boom* *boom* *boom*. Bring back the D2000 please!

That's about what I auditioned. There was a Unique Melody CIEM that belonged to someone but I didn't manage to audition it. Maybe another day.

After that, I chatted with the guys at Jaben and some members of the Audiophile-Id forums and we had a good laugh.

Oh yeah, BTW Jaben will gladly accept ordering a pair of JH Audio CIEMs if I ever want to. They will handle everything from the ordering process, to payment to the shipping process making the whole process of owning a CIEM much easier. After learning about that, I might consider a pair of CIEMs someday.

Measurements on the website look fantastic, ultra linear to 60hz (not as low as the A7X though), and most people who've A/B'd them with the A7X's prefer the KH120.

It was mega boring for me too, but there are a few good moments throughout the series.

Ooh here comes another candidate. Ill check it out biggrin.gif

I don't want to touch the K67 ever again. Not even with a 100 foot pole.

Seriously AKG! What the bloody hell were you thinking?

Totally irrelevant stuff: I just destroyed my hands trying to play Scriabin's Etude in F minor (op 42 no 7) full speed (quarter note = 126). O.O

And Fez is coming to Steam on May 1st!!!
