That would be awesome if they only cost $600...

I don't think it's really that nice looking, better than the HiFimans though, which are kinda ugly. For $600, I'd buy one right now.

Are those seriously easier to drive than your Q701? eek.gif

Or are you just listening quietly in that pic?

Yeah, the sig isn't one that you usually start appreciating on first listen. It took me about 4 hours before I started to appreciate the sound sig on my Mad Dogs, and even a bit longer to fully start loving it.

QFT.

See above comments.

Dammit, you make me go and listen to that song now!!!

Soundstage is meh on that song tbh...

Check out this song for some real soundstage!

[I recommend a FLAC of it, that copy is sorta lame...]

Shuddup, you have the SR-007 tongue.gif

Lolwut???

It does look good

I didn't even listen to them then. The P-H knob is not an indicator, that was just the position they were on.

I've been listening for a while now. They are fantastic, but nothing I would swoon over. I love the sound. Absolutely love it. Just nothing swoon.

It may have been the song. There was some near harshness with some string instruments, but its mostly not there.

Smoothy cream vanilla  :)

Haha, alright.

I think that's what the sound sig does to you . It doesn't make you cream your pants to any one song, But it also doesn't make you want to throw them out a window on a spiky treble happy song either.

I love me some vanilla! :D

Though I'd describe it more like maple syrup. Vanilla doesn't have much low end taste compared to the dark, creamy taste of syrup :P

Very good improvement over what?

I use it for depth and width perception when the kids start singing; especially "HEY! Teacher! Leave those kids alone!".

M-100 for example sounds reaaaally distant and not very spread apart. K 701 is pretty close but really spread apart.

NOOOO!!!

It's good vanilla

And it's a good reference. You know it is when it works well with almost all genres :)

Perfume? Check

Fleetwood Mac? Check

Rise Against? Check

Beethoven? Check

Bases loaded.

The FiiO X3 is nearing release! A week or two from now! Yes :)

... I needed me a new DAP too rolleyes.gif

Haha, alright. I'll go reanalyze that part of the song with my Mad Dogs and see how it sounds.

I still can't quite grasp the whole idea of how 2 speakers pushing sound in one dimension can create a 3 dimensional soundstage though...

Haha, yup. As purrin says, it has to sound good with all song types and mastering quality to get a pass in my book.

Man oh man... Fleetwood Mac sounds amazing on the LCD2s :) I need some more music like it, but haven't been lucky enough to find much lately...

I'm starting to get excited to see how the MDs will compare to the LCD2 now

Because all measurements for the Mad Dog are either wrong or outdated at this point...

There Bowei, is that enough drama for you? rolleyes.gif

Vocaloid works dam well as well. The bassyness of their recordings works well with the LCD's. And the sharp (annoying) electronic voices don't pass through at full annoyingness and is toned down just oh so well.

Listen to Dreams by Fleetwood Mac

When you get the LCD2.2's

The Q701's and LCD2.2's on Dreams by Fleetwood Mac

are evenly matched

The vocals are much better seperated and clearer with Q701's. While with LCD2.2's they are just creamed into there and lusciously delicious flowy.

The instruments on the LCD2.2's are just there with good seperation. On the Q701's. They are very clean and very well separated. Instruments are more pronounced on Q701's and sharper while they are more balanced on LCD2.2's

With Bass, The LCD2.2's deliver creamy bass every second while the Q701's deliver just enough.

The headphones are opposites of each other but both have a different form of neutrality that they are looking at.

Now that I have heard the LCD2.2's

I can say...that I probably don't need to buy them.
