Isn't treble mostly just sibilance? And most of the vocals are in the mid frequencies?

Treble would mostly be high octave instruments like violins or soprano singers. I think sibilance is a result of treble not being properly tamed, I could be wrong...
For vocals I think it depends again on male or female singers. Different pitch ranges would lead to different needs in the sound signature.

Depends on what is defined as sibilance. Is it a 12k brickwall, or harsh 7k vocals which translates to that Szzzz sound? The former would be treble and the latter upper-mids.

It's irritative pronunciation of consonants. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sibilant

Just wait until I post a vid of my car subwoofer rattling to some electronic miku stuff though

Not something I'd listen to at home, but for certain things they're fine. Ex working out with fast paced bassy music...
If I ever will be at a point where I can't take the mad dogs with me for a couple weeks, I'll let you borrow them if you pay shipping :3

That's as stupid as Shedninja with Sturdy - Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
Boatloads of treble and upper mids. Or the HE-400 route.
Nope it was too smexy so they had to keep it off-screen. They had the most amazingly kinky space s*x conceivable.
I'd be curious to hear them tbh
Some very small treble spikes are nice, it's massive mountains and ringing that give treble a bad name.

Lol, I like that MH1C for certain songs... And I think they sound better when the bass is tuned down just a bit...

Nah, warm+sweet is where it's at.
Doesn't the HE400 have like no upper mids? So vocals don't sound forward at all?

10k is simbilance, give or take...

Lies you want to turn the EQ band up more for the bass. Such lies Lucius...
Eeeww sweets.
Vocals are...flat. 2-4k has like mostly female and strings, and they come back out with grill/pad mods and some EQ bump anyways.

Wow, that's alot more complicated than I thought it was. Thanks for the knowledge!
Male dominance right there. Men can cover the female frequencies + more.

Just reading some clever responses against a thread flamer. Language can be pretty powerful depending on how you manipulate it. Right now I'm learning all sorts of methods from you guys on how to combat unreasonable people. :) I should probably also look at Muppetface's posts to improve my English. Who knew Head-Fi could serve so many different purposes.

Ever since I slipped into the Muppet avatar/persona I've been feeling more eloquent and well-versed in a great deal of topics such as abortion and Stax. Try it out to see.

Well that's what it've heard it be called... Basically treble without spikes and a good balanced mid/low presentation.
Welp, it's better than reading headfi reviews, where ultras ones are considered neutral by some people and brainwavz B2s are called bass heavy...

Lol I've never increased the bass with my mad dogs... They have the perfect bass for quiet, at home listening. Problem is to get that same kind of performance out of other IEMs/HPs that are cheap, you generally need a low frequency boost...

Bass nerd. (not serious of course)
Treble has like, one spike. To say it is not spiky would be exaggeration. Bass is probably the closest any other headphone will get to the LCD-2s. And IMO the mids are clearer as well. Treble is the real PITA.
Haha you believe in reading graphs and the objective debate haha. Everyone make fun of the graph nerd. (and no one reads HF reviews)
Still been getting more into THD and actually finding a measurement rig nearby.
Ultrasones are so neutral, that's why people bleed from all that neutrality. Like Switzerland in a headphone.
