have fun choosing.

Sadly nothing really catches my interest. I really want something that has very dark, mature themes. I already am watching Zetman and it does fill a bit of that bill.

Although I'm really interested in an upcoming anime called Psycho-Pass. So far, very little detail has been revealed.

@Bowei

Yeah, BM was made as a live action drama series which I found that it was a bit cheesy. The story also differs greatly from the manga.

I'm really not in the mood of watching something that is moe or kawaii. Really want to watch something dark and violent. Maybe set in the future or something. I don't really like anime with an historic setting.

I can provide dark and kawaii... i think you know what it is, coming from me...

But then after thinking about it some more, I can give dark and psychological and dark and violent. Serial Experiment Lain (fckawesome!) and Kara no Kyoukai (still watching it, trying to finish it unsuccessfully >_>).

Finally I have all of Utada Hikaru's albums, btw is m4a the same as FLAC? Because all the files are m4a....

Also this: All Dx000 will be discontinued effective immediately. inb4 skyrocketing prices. Damn I never thought about it, but now I need to have a D2000 just because it's going out of production. Also this means that Denon have something up their sleeves.

m4a is a container, it could contain AAC (lossy, but good) or ALAC (lossless).

I was just about to post this.

Not all Dx000 are being discontinued. I thought that at first too, but when I went back to read, only AH-D2000/AH-D5000/AH-D7000 are being discontinued.

Quote:

The announced DENON 'replacement' for the AH-D7000 (one of all-time faves at the HeadRoom fort!) will be the AH-D7100EM [$1,199 msrp]; the replacement for both the D2000 and D5000 models will be the AH-D600EM [$499 msrp]. Also slated are brand-new models AH-D400EM @ $399, AH-C400EM @ $349, and AH-C300EM @ $249. No delivery ETA or pre-release data is available yet regarding the new headphones,

No, M4a is most commonly used for ALAC and AAC. It is MPEG 4 based and so it's M4A. FLAC's have their own appending of .flac but ALAC and AAC have .m4a. FLAC and ALAC are both compressed lossless however(FLAC has option of uncompressed lossless). FLAC is very open source and ALAC just became "open" (limited but far enough mobility). Both are good formats and if done correctly is indistinguishable between the two.

FLAC's generally have a higher compression than ALAC. This does depend on the FLAC level that was used but the default FLAC compression level usually used vs an ALAC encoding would usually have the ALAC be the higher size(9/10 times, it's this, can be vice versa though) This does not mean higher quality. Both are the same, the FLAC at this moment would just be "better" as it's a lower space.

bowei, that really means all of them are replaced and stopped production. It's getting superceded by the new line. Are there any other Dx000 than the three of them before this?

Well I just hope the quality is the same as FLAC, I'm converting them to 320k mp3 files with LAME3.99 encoder.

Do not...AND DO NOT ever convert/encode an MP3 or lossy file into a lossless one. You just added ~20MB/s of useless size/space.

Converting to lossless just meant you made a larger copy of the exact same song(if done correctly) which means that it AT BEST can be re encoded into the same quality MP3 as before and has the option of less quality as you are encoding the lossless made lossy file into a lossy one again.

I find 256kbps AAC VBR to be preferable. 320kbps MP3 with LAME is said to be superior however I have not tested the difference between the two. I did an 256kbps AAC VBR vs WAV a few months ago and decided that the lossy one didn't sound bad, just different. However AT TIMES you can tell a difference. Slight, but sonically there as in bad or good and not just different which does show the difference. However my portable set is my ipod and $25 earbuds..... I could hear the difference after 2 hours ABX'ing with foobar with a few hundred dollar equipment at home........... (~$350 MSRP)I'm not going to be that biased dude that wants super FLAC or UBER ALAC on his pod. 256kbps AAC VBR is good enough for my earbuds I use on my ipod..at home however.

LET THE LOSSLESS MEDIA BEGIN PLAYING!

I'll be doing tests soon with my new equipment.

MusicLover, you should go out into the threads as well. SoundScience is the best section to learn with most unbiased. Of course all the forums is good, you just need to know how to weed out stuff. The easy one's are easy of course.

Well, I can cook some simple dishes, but I rarely do it now.

Zetsubou****a! I am going to watch it soon too.biggrin.gif

Why?

Use the asterisk (this thing *) in place of the "i". It's no fun seeing the entire thing blocked out.

I don't understand... Clannad is on a whole other level. In truth, I actually didn't like Geass that much, whereas Clannad is so good tears roll down my cheek when I hear the ED (dango daikazoku)

Yes, yes he did. Bad move Kuroda. tongue.gif

The Fate series would've been perfect if they didn't take out the horror elements.

Havn't cried to anime in a loooooong time. When I first started anime I cried A LOT, like every time a person dies or something sad happens but now I'm so used to it...

Don't think any anime will ever make me cry again...

Good. tongue.gif

Watch Clannad again. I still need to watch it. Need to go find some time. Will probably watch it over summer.

Angel Beats graduation was nice too. The final twist was a bit contrived though.

This.

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

I didn't understand the blindness thing though where Inori because blind and so did Shu. Didn't really like how they dressed in the future either. It's like...18th century Britain/England in the future. A different type of formal would have been better, like a plain white collared shirt, just like in school uniforms.

Graduation was okay.

Talking about Tegami Bachi, I'm reading a manga that is somewhat similar to it albeit more darker and more violent. It's The Arms Peddler or also known as Kiba no Tabishounin.

the-arms-peddler-2-ki-oon.jpg

Very good so far, a kind of Dark Fantasy version of Tegami Bachi.

Some compares it as a kind of successor to Übelblatt but I don't really know because I hate Übelblatt

Thought that was Corona from Soul Eater portrayed as a girl for a minute.

E7 AO

Super Shining Power Ranger Bread animation

Question, does the AKB48 anime make sense? IT's talking about a highly regulated society so to break free from it something "illegal" must be done....Are they for or against piracy really? I'm going to guess some sneaky script writer put this in there.

Watching all of those except the last 2 and Mysterious Girlfriend X. Wow, you are horrible at typing on your phone.

Mountain Dew is delicious, but poisonous.

I know I am...somewhat.

Not sure about the poisonous part, unless you're getting it mixed up with the Coca-Cola and Pepsi recipe can cause cancer thing (it's highly unlikely).

Nice. I have a cherry blossom in my front yard. It's a pink-white colored. It's starting to grow its leaves and shed its petals though.
