I agree w most reviews that these does not warrant the $499 MSRP. (Then rather opt for D5k, D7k). BUT - at the +-$230 range I got them at (Amazon warehouse) - these are VERY good value for...

Introduction The easiest way to explain the Sennheiser CX-150's is that they do what you can reasonably expect. You can't really expect much from a pair of sub-50 dollar IEM's, and frankly, I...

64 steps is 6 relays and 6 resistors per channel, so that's not that overdrive.
(at least if stepped attenuators work like I think they do)

*12 resistors per channel, it's a log resistor ladder.

well not really, but enough to put things together/build things :3 Don't remember the symbols for circuits, so I couldn't understand the left part of the diagram

Yes, right after I posted that I read up on how it would work.
The simple stepped attenuator I built at uni was 1-channel, 8 relays and 8 resistors. But it was linear.

That's what I tried too, as well as buy a text book. (except for the age part)
But I don't have the time nor interest to work on it anymore to get to the level where I could analyze and understand the circuit diagram of a typical amplifier, I'd need an estimated 100 hours of studying; approximately the time spent on one course in university.

this x1000. you're not going to magically learn because someone good at it tells you about it. most of the time they'll just say a bunch of jargon they're used to saying and you'll have no idea what it means, and they'll be bad at explaining it since they've been using jargon for so long.
