everything very_evil_smiley.gif well not really, but enough to put things together/build things :3 Don't remember the symbols for circuits, so I couldn't understand the left part of the diagram

Yes, right after I posted that I read up on how it would work.

The simple stepped attenuator I built at uni was 1-channel, 8 relays and 8 resistors. But it was linear.

(at least if stepped attenuators work like I think they do)

Was it changed to overdrive while I was spell checking lol... I wasn't thinking about the 4 channels of the beta 22 :3

That's what I tried too, as well as buy a text book. (except for the age part)

But I don't have the time nor interest to work on it anymore to get to the level where I could analyze and understand the circuit diagram of a typical amplifier, I'd need an estimated 100 hours of studying; approximately the time spent on one course in university.

this x1000. you're not going to magically learn because someone good at it tells you about it. most of the time they'll just say a bunch of jargon they're used to saying and you'll have no idea what it means, and they'll be bad at explaining it since they've been using jargon for so long.

Which is exactly what I'm doing right now. Practical electrical engineering is, thankfully, different to the electromagnetic theory I used to do.

Yeah, trying to learn about black holes in any real, useful detail is going to be impossible until you've covered the maths, which is at least 2nd year university level.

look through the tracklists, see which songs you recognize.

yep, teaching is a whole different thing.

Meh. I have the alleged holy grail of electronics books that borisu recommended, just don't have time to read it between 20 hours of work a week + 10 some hours of research, classes, homework, and exams. Also its being a PITA and won't let me convert from .pdf to epub.
