From what I've seen, maybe Canaan. I've been to lazy to look up the name of a really good one.

Yeah, it is a VERY VERY memorable anime. Not that it was perfect. I give it an 8.5/10, but it sure beats a majority of anime I give a 9/10 in in terms of rememberance and just how enjoyabale and mature it was.

Noir (Not yet finished)

GunSlinger Girl (anime and manga are both very excellent.) (9/10 for manga)

.....Guilty Crown. (8/10 average)

Darker than black (didn't finish, dropped)

Gungrave(10/10)

Canaan (8/10

Death Note (10/10

Eden of the East (8/10)

Code Breaker (8/10 for manga)

Psycho Pass (8.5/10)

Mirai Nikki(8.5/10 manga)

Mardock Scramble(8.5/10)

Elfen lied (9/10 anime)

I personally would recommend:

Gunslinger Girl (9/10_

Gungrave (10/10)

Mardock(8.5/10)

as similar anime's. 

And for similar atmosphere:

Canaan (8/10)

Eden of the East (8/10) 

The others are also similar anime, just not as similar.
