The 75m^2 apartment I'm currently living is worth approx. $750k now.

My house is about the same (€650k) yet I have 240m^2 living space, a garage and about 200m^2 of garden. But yeah, it really depends on where you live. For example in Amsterdam there are houses of 80m^2 that cost >€1 million, and they aren't even that pretty. They call those 'gentlemen houses'.

It's always expensive to live in cities. My town is a pretty expensive town, and it's not even a city.

I live in Downtown Toronto, and rent's only $610/month...

That's cheap. Social rent systems?
If you have an under modal income in the Netherlands you usually only have to pay about 1/2 to 1/4th of the actual rent. For students you can usually get a room for €300-400, but then you share a living room and kitchen with other students.

Private student residence. No government housing subsidies. Only problem is there's no A/C during the summer.

I live in a 6-person suite, with 6 bedrooms, one kitchen and dining room, and three bathrooms. Oh, and internet's free, though it does get annoying when people connect their own routers...

Um... I like them quite a lot? LOL.....
"good" is an understatement I seriously cannot find an anime character not on it's database.....
The only way I managed to "beat" the game without cheating (as in using minor characters or lying) is to use non-popular VNs.
It got Shirogane Takeru (Muv Luv MC) in under 30 questions
Even spaceship-chan from Osananajimi wa Daitouryou and characters from Yume Miru Kusuri under 60 question.
I've never had a bed bigger than single, so it's big enough for me lol.
yes yes, ninja wanker....

Yeah, I realized it wasn't your whole room, sorry if I made it sound that way LOL...

I was just wondering what you thought of them compared to your other HPs, I believe you have the HD600 as well right? Just wondering what the differences and stuff were there...

Ok, I'll have to redownload it and try it out... Maybe that's why it's so popular in the japanese android market...

Hehehe, ninja...

Yup, they did this a few times in Mirai Nikki as well. I hate censorship. Just another reason I like to wait until BDs come out for anime, so I don't have to deal with all that pixelated/fogged/darkened/zoomed BS that is censorship.

This is exactly what it looks like. New TV plugged into Mac with DAC and amp on the ground with my Q701

Watched Shinsekai Yori and Psychoo Pass. As usual, good psycho pass episode, interesting and very wowing and really interesting shinesekai episode but with the crappiest animation a front page anime has had in the last 3 decades possibly

I'l be able to do this much easier in the future. I'll have speakers next time and it will be wireless streamed instead.

TURN OFF THE FREAKING FLASH! FLASH SUCKS! IT'S ONLY USEFUL IF IT MAKES IT LOOK NATURAL OR IN RIDICULOUSLY LOW LIGHT CONDITIONS.

Bleh I still haven't get my refund money back yet. Looks like I won't really be picking anything up BF season. Hopefully 1964 ears will have a winter holidays sale or something.. $350 for the v3 would offset some of the customization costs since they charge extra for recessed sockets :c.

Ahahaha, Bowei isn't in the highest classes. I could take AP Physics and AP Chemistry next year if I see what's on the placement test and study for it. I'd murder myself though but hey, I'm already taking all Honors level classes (6 of them) and taking up all of the credits I possibly can.

I have a crappy B- in 2 classes though since it's the beginning of the year and I was a bit lazy on an essay in History class and my drafting teacher freaking hates me and think that I draw lines too straight as if I'm using paper or some other straight edge to trace. I'M JUST GOOD AT DRAWING STRAIGHT LINES, LIKE HOW I CAN WRITE PERFECTLY STRAIGHT WITHOUT GUIDELINES SO MY WORDS DON'T START CURVING! /rant

Ask the people who owns a pair of TF10's, that's about how easily they snap off. lol

I'm going to be honest, your room reminds me a lot of how people on Tumblr say their rooms are going to be when they grow up and buy/rent a home.

They say they're going to have a 1 room apartment with a mattress, fridge, and laptop. Really worried about those kids, although sometimes I wonder if they deserve that.

Eh, there's another rather noobish computer "enthusiast" at my school who dreams of Bulldozer with some liquid nitrogen (and I told him he probably shouldn't go for Bulldozer. At least get Piledriver so I don't have to punch him in the face). He doesn't even know how to use that power. I can bet you almost everybody in this entire freakin' state thinks clockspeed over architecture. I had to teach some of my younger friends whom I influence that architecture is more important that clockspeed in most cases. Fortunately I didn't punch them in the face.

WTF. I feel like it's going to be one of those horror movie moments where most of the screen is black except for a little light and then all of a sudden without any transition you see this dead corpse on the ground and crap your pants.

He's not poor or having his parents pour all of their money into a house renovation, although I feel like it's a way to celebrate the fact that you're leaving. LOL.

So I have this classmate who just upgraded from his no-brand headphones to some Audio-Technica M50 (he was recommended by someone to buy the M50s instead of Beats). He loves them but he absolutely does not care which side the headphones sits on his head, i.e. he doesn't care about the orientation, as long as there's music. BTW, his source is an iPod shuffle and I asked him what he's listening to. He said, he doesn't care what he's listening to.

Oh well...

I do want to go to Japan for one year or half a year, but that's possible because I can do pretty much all of my 'profilation' courses there. That is, courses not necessarily related to my main study (math and physics). I have to get 60ECTs this way, which corresponds to 8 courses in the Dutch system. I could probably do 4-6 of those abroad.

It still didn't turn out too bad, it fulfilled a good amount of distribution reqs I have and I'm still able to get my Computer Science degree in 4 years. Although I'll have to disagree that it wasn't a waste of time. With just over a year and a half of Japanese study, I'm around people who have gone through the standard Japanese program at my school for 3 years already and people who have transferred in w/ a placement test to get into 4000 level Japanese. Not coincidentally, My speaking proficiency is miles ahead of a good number of those people. We also have a good number of Chinese people in the class who can cheat on reading kanji but when it comes to expressing your ideas, I'm a step ahead of the game. I feel that Japanese/Chinese/Arabic are languages that you can't simply learn through regular classes, true internalization of the language comes from being able to interact with others on a regular basis, not merely 2-3 times a week. But I digress.

Maybe I should rephrase what I said earlier. While it really does depend on what you want to do with the language (getting a job, living there, or just reading manga and listening to music) I feel that speaking is truly the biggest obstacle to overcome if you're not taught correctly ("correctly" being highly subjective in the first place). I've found over the month and a half I was in Japan for the summer, no one will ever correct your mistakes, you'll simply get a "your Japanese is very very good!"

Simply put, while you can always brush up on kanji skills, being able to speak correctly is something that you really only have one true shot at. It's very hard for people to overcome grammatical mistakes or stuff like intonation and accent once it's set in. Because of this, oftentimes at my university people who have never taken Japanese often come out as better speakers than those who have taken it in high school or claim to have 2+ years of 'high school Japanese'

It's basic fact vs act. Passive understanding (reading and listening) will always be easier than speaking.

While I really want to learn Japanese, there is simply not much reason to take it too seriously. I'm learning it as a hobby pretty much, and I don't really plan on using it later on.
Living in Japan would be awesome, and the most likely jobs I'd get there if I'd live there (for whatever time span) is tutoring and academic research. For academic research it is not even required that you speak Japanese in the first place. It'll just be really helpful.

Someone suggested going a year to a Japanese language institute in Tokyo to study there. I believe they offer courses very similar to what you described. Seems like an awesome thing to do, but the problem is that it costs an entire year. Additionally, it's also not realistic unless I find a decent job to pay for my living expenses, since I don't earn enough here to save up.

I'm not even sure yet whether I'll go 6 months or 12 months to Japan, but I should make that decision final in not too much time. Your experience would be very helpful, so I may contact you once I'm closer to making my decision.
It's an important life decision, and a year or half year of useful time is not nothing. But now is also the only time in my life that I'll be able to make this decision.

I turned on the Flash because the lights were off and I wanted to show the whole set. Flash sucks, but it has its uses.

Reminds me that I convinced someone to not get turtle beach headphones and instead get the monoprice supra-aural cans. He brought them into class today and they looked pretty cool. He said he would let me borrow them for a little bit after class Wednesday...
