I haven't been watching this, but it looks interesting actually. I'll probably start after finals are over in a little over a week.

I'll take a look at the 3220. Building a new list now...

I've never done this before. It's kind of fun actually, haha.

Thanks, it iwll be out of stock soon just so you know....just saying. every other 3TB is $150+

It is about 5-10% faster, but more efficent with better graphics, however it is only $10 and will give your PC a bigger sensation of being new if you read its specs and may have a higher resale value if you wish to sell it later.

Go ask your univeristy or friends and what not. You can usually fine a used pc with mid case and blah blah. 350W should be enough as you are literally running nothing.

If the case is too small or weird, look elsewhere, Dell and HP uses BTX or ITX formats sometimes so just a regular free case.

I personally find it a bit difficult to watch, since it's a really heavy watch. But it's definitely worth watching.

Dunno. I've been thinking about just going for Core i3. It should still be within my budget, and I want to get the best possible, even if something a little cheaper might be "good enough." Google results seem to indicate that it's generally better than some comparable stuff from AMD (correct me if I'm wrong), and the price difference from what I can tell so far is pretty negligible. RAM seems to be quite cheap so I'm not too worried about that. A 1TB Barracuda is like $80.

I'm not sure just what kind of power supply I'd need? I saw a Corsair CX430 for $17 after rebate?

I think the thing I understand the least is how to pick a good motherboard.

I think you're okay with the others getting the hardware for you. 100 plugins? That might kill most computers by its own. I record stuff myself. I have Cakewalk Sonar. But I minimize the plugins I use.

I don't know how intensive 100 plugsis in for that is but the i3 3220 has four threads and 2 physical cores

8GB's of memory with a SSD and 3TB of 7200rpm storage should also do it justice

Good show. The manga is harder hitting, but the tenor and emotional tone of the anime works well with the subject matter.

Maybe not actually 100, or maybe actually 100. Imagine 2-4 sets of multitrack drums. That's as much as 32 tracks for drums alone. Each with anywhere from 3-5 plugins each. I could makes buses for snare top, snare bottom, high tom, etc, but I have limited buses I can use and I need them for other things. Distorted guitar, clean guitar, bass guitar, various and multiple effects channels (reverb, delay, saturation, lots of other random stuff), separate singing and screaming channels for 2 different vocalists, piano, violin, cello, bass, kalimba, mandolin, various choir pads, pan flute, harp, dulcimer, special effects and sound clips...our music can be kind of ridiculous sometimes, haha.

Bowei, I was looking for you this afternoon. I want my parents to finally calm down and not worry about anything bad happening with my current planned build. Here's the list.

I wasn't home this afternoon?

I see BioStar has pulled an Asrock.

The Crucial is still availble?then I might as well change Manveru's to that one. I only did a quick newegg parts build to give him a quote anyway

That steel series mouse pad looks like the code lyoko symbol

For $20 that is not a very good mouse, there are Gigabyte and other value gaming mouses availble. You dont need one but why not? They have the extra side buttons to allow for easy back and forth and better sensors(generally). And are wired. There is also a basic wireless Gigabyte gaming mouse as well.

I have this mouse in my house, pretty good for the price

I bought this for another build, pretty good build as well.

Everything else is fine. The free memory with the Biostar is pretty nice. Good sub $600 build for your purposes which is a well put together system.  You don't need to shave money off unlike Manveru but that Evo 212 isn't needed too too much. But it is nice to and fun to instal and have and get lower temperatures.

Yeah, hopefully not all at once..eek.gif

That's alot of tracks you'll be bouncing. I don't usually go to that level of detail with my own stuff, but I do understand why people do. More likely I'm pretty impatient to get something done now, then move on before I get pretty bored with it.

I guess at some point you'll bring up some working sample on here at a stopping point.
