Do you require low latency playback for realtime recording / overdubbing?  That's the main advantage of ASIO.

If you've got a USB DAC you want to use then the computer's soundcard is irrelevant.  Check the info on your USB DAC for ASIO drivers.

Pretty sure the filters on the POPO are pretty much acoustically transparent, or at least supposed to be. Wouldn't be too worried about the sound.

When I removed the tip on the left side, I could already see that the mesh was glued on wrong (the ring of adhesive plastic holding the edge of the filter onto the bore had shifted) and was sticking out of the side of the bore.  When I fitted in another tip the tip caught on the bit of mesh sticking out and made the mesh come off.

The right side had a treble peak that became stronger after the mesh was removed.  It was already stronger with the mesh than the left side without the mesh :?: So it seems I can conclude that the drivers themselves on this pair of Popo were not well matched.

So guys I made another daring purchase: a $44 pair of open air headphones with 50mm drivers (which is like the biggest size used on headphones)

They sound pretty damn good too

The red accent does not stand out in the actual phones nearly as much as in the box product shot or even the photo I took.

I think they meant a loudness compensation EQ curve (basically a V-curve that lets to listen to music at a lower volume and get the feeling that you're listening to it louder; usually it *is* a button labelled "loud" on the stereo) but "loud" as a feature is not half bad for the average car audio nut

Yeah, but... they could have done a little better job explaining it.

God, Chase-kun and I listened to his car speakers today, they have "loud" enable by default >_<
There's some sort of treble peak or resonance that gave me a headache. Seriously, I put my hood up on the coat I was wearing and it sounded better.
