And here's kalbee's boringly practical package with professional bubble wrap (I'd have used that if I knew where to get this stuff and if I didn't get an hilariously oversized box when I asked for the smallest shipping package), earphones and tips and stuff nicely tied and sorted...

1000

When shipping I usually go to the attic, grab a suitable box. Then put in one layer of bubble wraps or air bags (depending on the size of the box), then the item to be shipped, and then I stuff it full with more bubble wrap or airbags. Then I close the box and put a lot of tape on it. Then I grab a large piece of brown paper and wrap it around it and add more tape.

Why not just use a small bubble mailer?

Because all the shipping I have done is to other countries and involved big objects such as amplifiers and headphones.

If I'd ship IEM's I'd use a bubble plastic envelope. I'd also put a packet of salt in them to preserve them against moist.

Why not just grab some desiccant packets from whatever snacks that you've bought?

Though I have never found them in snacks.

They don't have that. I have bought plenty of stuff from there, but never found those things.

Perhaps its a Europe thing

(no idea what country you're from)

Born in Taiwan, but grew up in Canada. I've visited my relatives in the Netherlands, though I've never been to the Chinese supermarkets there.

Have you bought bags of rice crackers? They should be in there.

Thanks for the belated advice tongue.gif

I just thought the tissue was cheap and pretty (well, prettier than some alternatives I thought up, since I still have no idea where you'd buy bubble wrap) and you could have use for it afterwards, unlike with bubble wrap.

Boris mentioned that tissue may make poor padding because they're tightly packed but as kalbee can probably attest, those tissue packs are actually quite soft and cushy.

Anyway, here's the post I was hoping you guys would dig up, it was actually posted quite a while ago

Yeah, I remember that post. Old newspaper is far more practical IMO.
