Amen to that!
Even though my receiver claims to EQ speakers based on my room configuration, I don't think room configuration makes a big deal if your speakers can't benefit from it.

The SR-001 Mk2

Hmm.... high voltage + in-ear ?

Wonder how they sound.

Sounds very similar to the HD 25-1 II, but the annoying peak in the high mids is gone and it's a little more comfortable. Overall not worth the price gap.

HE-6
Dang, this thing needs gobs and gobs of power. Actually the 4W per channel Burson had trouble driving it to even normal listening volume.
Sound is very smooth, and I think I like it a bit more than the HE-500, but definitely not worth the price gap. Wow.

HE-300
Bassmonsters. Don't really like them, but the comfort is good. Soundstage is average.

I thought the Amperior sounded brighter than the HD25 actually.

Time to get the speaker amps out tongue.gif

Agreed.

@bowei @Shinsekai yori

I don't know if it's a good show based on the spoilers;  all I know is that this is a very serious show and the fortunes of all the characters will be going downhill from here.

lol @ $20 IEMs -> Summit-fi for life from borisu

Summit fi? The MH1C's? Laughably not. You can EQ them. But they are not perfected and are hard to get. There are sonic characteristics that you just can't change with EQ.

Hmm that's depressing.

Agreed.

I didn't like the Amperior for the price.

Yep, it's probably the only IEM I'd buy from now on for SQ.
But I may still get entry CIEMs for the custom art :) can never get enough of that.

Think I'm gonna get myself another RAM stick today... Parallels desktop needs it.

and I need to get some stuff for Graph's ABX box too (forgot to do that yesterday...)

Like what?

I'm liking my EQ'd MH1C‘s more then my un-EQ'd UE11Pro's in terms of SQ only.

I have Joe's EQ which is quite good as well as the EQ system that FiiO offers on their system. I wouldn't use the MH1C's long term. They are for tasks that require me to get a bit physical like walking and of which may damage more expensive earphones.

There is a slightly harsh but bright spot at the upper end of the vocal scheme. No ammount or place of EQ can lower it. It is just there. With Joe's EQ it is more pronounced or audible as the bass uneq'd hides the problem a lot better. Listen to the "e"'s. They are very sharp and bright and may hurt. Some recordings don't make it as noticeabl but a good amount of songs from anyone will show it quite well. The bass has good quanity, but the quality and speed is a problem. The crappy cable is also a problem (that you don't have anymore).

No school awww.

LOL, MORE RAM. 8GB's is max so max it out. What may be even better than RAM though is an SSD.

I chuckle inside when I see "audiophile" listening rooms with tens of thousands of dollars of equipment, fancy 2" thick cables, power conditioners, mono blocks, etc, and then bare reflective surfaces everywhere.

Wish I had the space for a listening room....

This x100 biggrin.gif

I just can't help but to laugh at the crazy things they do.

Cables bigger than your garden hose + 25 thou PCB Copper traces HAHAHAHAHA~

(1 thou = 1/1000 inch incase you've never heard of the unit.)

The cable thing is a huge problem and one can attribute it to experience. It can be said that with experience and the correct systems, one can be trained and be one that can discern the sound between different cables blind folded and with near always correct replies. Just because some people or the majority of people can't hear it (Majority of Head-Fi uses $200 on average headphones) due to their exposure and experience doesn't mean it isn't there and something that the rich would want. With my wallet, it isn't something I would buy but just to know that it is there.

Parallel desktops may not need as much RAM if the SSD allows it complete operations faster. 6GB Ram with an SSD would for most purposes be much better than 8GB of RAM and a 5400rpm standard drive doing the same thing but also a bit more expensive. A 64GB SSD is $40 right now and should be enough for both OS installations, just be sure to instal all the other crap on the other drive.

Sounds like you're not EQ-ing it properly?
You'd need a high-Q Band-stop Filter to get rid of the peaks.

The bass should be very easy to fix with a simple high-pass or low-shelf filter.

Yeh, the crappy cable, lol

The only complain I have left is the comfort issue with the universal tips.

Right.. but I can't afford a SSD >.<
a 4GB ram is around $40 - 50

With Mac I can't just install the OS all the stuff needs to go in the system library..

My mac OS volume is already 110GB, that's only the OS + applications that must be installed on the boot volume + homework.

Trolling? No. I'm just stating a universal thing. Just like how I can't tell a difference sometimes and Rikkun's indifference on the sound between the MRB and his units. Many of us today are not using equipment or have trained ourselves to the caliber of sound that cables may produce. I will say that the majority of people using those cables probably cant hear a differnce anyway but there will always be a group that can.

a 64GB SSD is $40

That sucks for you. The default Instal of the OS is around 10-20GB's depending on if you have a clean instal or already have the extra free apps like iMovie and iPhoto installed.

I'm using and modding Joe's EQ as I go along.

Don't be silly, If my FFT Analyzer can't detect anything, the human ear definitely can't.

Unless we have some super humans here.

Yeah, it sucks... mainly because of the pro apps I have installed on my mac.
