I don't even...
Debit just means that it is the cash you have on hand. You insert it into the bank and you just use the card(debit card) as virtual cash that you can easily bring in the size of a card and makes it useful at stores and what not. It doesn't build credit and will sometimes even have fees on it. For a person of my age, it is illegal to hold "debt" and thus it must be a credit card where my mother is co signed to it with me as an authorized user.
I have a bank account, and my debit card is linked to my bank account. Whenever I pay something using my debit card, or withdraw money from an ATM, the money is withdrawn from my bank account. It's as simple as that.
I only use cash to pay other people, always at stores I use debit card. When buying stuff online from the Netherlands too, otherwise I use Paypal, which is linked to my bank account as well.
ONLY when I order from stupid Amazon, or stupid Mouser, do I have to use my parents' credit card. Oh, and also the Android Play Store.
Why on earth won't they accept Paypal or debit card? To a European's mind it just doesn't make any sense.
What...? That made no sense. Credit cards put you in debt you realize? And debit cards don't unless you overdraft? Underage kids are allowed to have debit cards I don't know where you're getting your information from... it makes more sense for an underage kid to have a debit card seeing as a lot of banks offer free overdraft protection where your card is just rejected instead of overdrafting. You do realize credit cards you basically are spending money that isn't yours and you pay that off at the end of each month or whenever you feel like it in the month right..?
I actually got my first debit card when I was 11 or 12. It's more convenient, since my parents could transfer allowance automatically.
Debit Card = Only spend money you have
Credit Card = Borrowing money, easy to overspend
I still don't understand why you'd want a credit card though, I've seen interest fees and monthly fees get extremely high on credit cards compared to debit cards...
My debit card is through Chase bank and has absolutely NO fees, monthly, or per transaction.
I'd want a credit card... So that I can pay stuff from stupid American sites.
I wouldn't know otherwise.
I have heard that and surprisingly that doesn't affect me all that much. I don't actually lay on my bed though, I sit in a chair and use my bed as a ghetto desk. Maybe it also has to do with the fact that I have my homework done at least an hour (usually two) before going to bed, and I only use the middle of my bed... I don't have as much trouble going to sleep as I used to due to me being able to take classes later in the morning.
Almost all of my homework is written by hand using pen and paper. I don't see how that could work on a bed like you describe it.
Nice, I have to get up at 7AM on all days except Tuesdays this block. (one block = 1/2 semester) I hate getting up early in the morning.
