well, it should be ok as long as I buy from shops with good reputation.
and there shouldn't be much room to f-up for a piece of metal.
I'll be getting the case there too.
but from what I've seen so far, we may need to have it custom made afterall....
Our size is a bit hard to get with stock cases.

I 'm looking to get a DAC for my PC, any tips? I want one that's transeint and I ONLY WANT A DAC no combos... I'll be getting an amp at some point or I might run my DAC through my cMoy too... ethier way I don't want an e17 [I'm reaseraching for a Dt880 600ohm DAC AMP paring] <3
"transeint" What is this word supposed to be?
Why no combos? It's not like you have to use the built in amp. At this price range a lot things are combos I think. Plus, if you can get a good amp at the same time, why not? The only things I can think of that aren't combos around this price range are the ODAC, or an HRT Music Streamer II. That being said, both of those are actually very solid choices I should think.
I I don't have enough space for all that stuff. But I got 3 more, up to 300 mgs my self

Transient means it does not add anything, you know that
I might look at the ODAC, and yea I know [don't use the amp function] and I also looked at the

Don't you mean "transparent"?
"Transient" means "short time"....
No it doesn't. Transient is like a loud and sudden peak in the audio. I think the word your looking for is "transparent." In that case, personally I would avoid potentially sketchy brands such as Nuforce, Audinst, etc...
As I always say, don't count out pro audio interfaces either, though it probably doesn't make a difference as there isn't really any price difference.

NuForce I heard is skecthy but, the Audinst was recommended by a fellow ont he dt 880 600 ohm thread, I'll looking to the ODAC now to
ANd yea Transparent is a better word
I remember the days when I used to spend time 'researching' what audio devices I wanted to buy. Now I'm tired and don't really care anymore, hahaha.
Difference in SQ I hear in different gear throughout my audio journey:
None -> A LOT -> a bit.
LOL
Buys multi-thousand dolor digital console -> use 2 output channels as DAC to listen to music
When I first listened to hi-res files I was all like "holy cow, I can hear the purer more analog-like sound waves, so much more realistic! (◐ o ◑ )" And I remember getting into an argument with someone in the sound science forums because I claimed that the difference between redbook and 24/96 was "night and day." I got mad because people were telling me otherwise and asking if I did an ABX (it was an ABX thread) and I was all like "What's that? I don't need no ABX or whatever, I can clearly hear the difference!"
Hahaha. That would be quite a sight.
