I donnooooo.

But when I'm out and about, I'm more worried about not stepping on poo or not getting hit by cars, rather than accurate reproduction of sound. tongue.gif

At home, the SR-007 do great, they don't annoy me, and that's all I've ever wanted in a headphone to be honest.

I think I've reached the point where when your gear becomes good enough, you start to not care about sound quality anymore, and only care about the music.

I tried a Yuin PK3 (I think), it was okay until the connector died a few weeks later, what a waste of $60. frown.gif The ibuds are much more durable.

LOLOL I will give ibuds that. They take a beating and keep getting back up for more terribad playback!

Project Haiburi

Project Starving High School Student

And those might just be the most common ones, excluding Project-H with H meaning...well, you know...

I say just stick with H. It's ambiguous, is up to interpretation, and has definite meanings which only we can understand all at the same time. Anything with the word "hybrid" sounds like a tube/ss amp. There's already an amp with "starving student" in the name as well.

Plus it's an absolutely charming name for an electronic device. I wouldn't mind having that written on the front panel. In cheesy cursive font, haha.

Haha, I don't have to worry about that. I have swim practice almost every day.

Same here, the food is good and can be inexpensive but the heat during summer, I could die from it.

Pretty sure there were at least 2 people that showed up in the photo more than once. Both were guys.

Lol I actually barely eat anymore. I struggle to finish a burrito and it takes me two meals to finish the food I get from work. There are 4 people that showed up evenly in all the photos but I give up you guys are never going to believe me anyways and trying to troll for and extended period of time for an epic reveal later that I'm actually a dude seems like its not going to work; so JERKFACEPOOPHEAD dayofcalm was telling the truth, hes my friend from high school who decided to pay me back for telling everyone in the summit-fi thread that he was a harvard student.... even though his location says cambridge. Honestly who lives in cambridge, says they're in college, and isn't at harvard yo!

Well its 10 RMB whenever I go to China and visit family over the summer unless I actually go into a restaurant but usually I just eat at like family run shops that are yummy since I prefer home-cooked food anyways.

Well I'm getting my m80's tomorrow I'll let you know what I think of them! For the price and the awesome aesthetics though I think they're worth the price. Just not super high tier audiophile stuff I guess?

LOL! How's your imouto btw?

We should get an artist that can make a logo that shows "Project H" but able to show a crap load of abstract meaning.

We call him Haiby.

BTW, go and crop your avatar photo. Hate to see that white

YES I KNOW I HAVE A STOCK SOUND CARD OKAY ITS TOTALLY NOOB BUT I DONT WANT TO BUY A DIFFERENT ONE. Partially because I think my PCIE slots might be finicky and don't want to make a $200 purchase to realize it isn't going to work at all.

Also I will. eventuallly..... crop that. When I'm not feeling lazzzy.

Spitting dat mad truth. One day I'll get there! Also. the new ibuds are pretty good. The ones that come with the iPhone 5. They're not fantastic with base but pretty good with details. I didn't listen for that long on my roommates though.

Brb like 1 hour going to watch Dexter that I missed Sunday.

Except this amp doesn't have an inductor in it biggrin.gif

It would've been a really good name for a tube amp with output transformer.

An awesome post by MuppetFace:

Therein lies the problem. Head-fiers can err in numerous ways.

Do we accept that there are objective standards?
-> If no: fall into absolute relativism, a contradiction. Meaningful conversation ultimately impossible.
-> If yes: do we recognize the "correct" standard?
-> -> If no: mistake something like treble tilt for being neutral. Support ****ty headphones
-> -> If yes: argue with morons and get frustrated. Come to changstar.

Do we accept the validity of subjective experience?
-> If no: fall into absolute authoritarianism and jerk off to nwavguy.
-> If yes: do we recognize preferences being separate from objective standards?
-> -> If no: claim neutrality "fails to capture the soul of the music." Support ****ty headphones.
-> -> If yes: argue with morons and get frustrated. Come to changstar.

The one thing I still don't get is how lately it seems to have become trendy and "intellectual" to bash Nwavguy. Not that I particularly care about defending him, but it seems to me none of these types of comments are justified or make any sense. I don't ever remember him denying the existence and separation of personal preferences in any of his articles, or "falling into absolute authoritarianism." Maybe I'm remembering wrong. My guess is that it started out as some kind of misplaced and nonsensical emotional reaction.

That would be COOL!.....BUT ....hahaha..... Project H sounds mysterious.

Todays units I listened to that I would now consider

Bower and Wilkins P3

UE 4000

That's about it. They are $100 and $200. U4E4000 is $100 and the other is $200

They are not perfect but had the most fun sound which is what I look for in headphones on the go. The HK had a comfort flaw with too much pressure on the top of the head and the others were just meh or weren't ever going to be bought by me for the price.

UE4000 price to performance to overall imo:9/10 for on the go fun loving people

BW P3 price to performance to overall imo:8/10 for on the go fun loving people who want style

The BW sound much better as they are dark and carry weight but the material used...shouldn't be used as a comfort material and they do have a weird fit and may slip and other things. The UE4K don't have the depth of sound that the other headphones carry sadly. but for $99, whatever.

MINI REVIEW SHOOTOUT:

Monster inspiration =laughable, uber fake huge aritifical soundstage that drowns EVERYTHING OUT. No need to even consider.

Sennheiser Amperior=Ehh, it has this and that and I can understand it, it also has THE msot bass quantity out of every headphone their, even the Monster and Beats. and then *looks at price*. No sennheiser, that to me is NOWHERE NEAR $350 MSRP worht of sound, comfort, portability or anything in totoal. Overly massive ammount of bass. Good for me and DJs, bad for everyone else. Sub bass and mid bass is pretty good and while they don't leak into the mids too much, there are times when they don't work with many songs due to the amount. The mids are a bit cold and lifeless. I guess you can say neutral this time around(cold not to be always confused with neutral) but I would have really liked just a tad bit of warmth. They are THE most natural sounding vocals out of all the headphones however. The smoothest highs also. Comfort is meh, has a decent clamp force. Mids instruments are a bit sparkly and light while forward.

Skullcandy Rocnation: The efforst of SKullcandys new sound engineer head can be see, at $120 these are workable for those that want, comfort, sound, and that ..quite sizeable artificial sounding soundstage.

Bose AE2; It works, it is the most flat or linear out of all the ones there, but due to it isn't engaging as I would like portably. The bass is the most linear in the sense that there isn't that massive mid bass hump and then close to no sub bass or tiny sub bass of the others, its pretty steady throughout, with meh vocals. The vocals are a bit cold(cold does not mean neutral) and the instruments airy. Highs are quite smooth

Harmon and Kardon CL: Quite suprised but why should I be? They are AKG's parent. The sound is quite nice, however not perfected. The upper highs are harsh and unctonrolled and can lead to that really harsh spike and loose sound. The mids are THE most lifelike out of all of them with just a nice tad bit of warmthness added into them. With a good bass responce that doesn't bleed into the mids. Decent sub bass, However it is unperfected, it can get quite harsh and treble spikey and the comfort and weight should be a MASSIVE reason not to get it. It clamps VERY HARD on the upper ear due to its desgn.

UE4000:Doesn't have much overall weight and the vocals are neither very forward or back, just in the middle with decent mids instruments. Comfy. Not really detailed anything in an overall sense. The mids however is a big con for rock lovers. They are their but they are REALLY pulled back and don't have much body to them at all. Mids as in instruments like guitars or strings.

Bower P3: Decently comfortable short term, but not too long term nor for action. Vocals are quite forward and nice. Dark and while not overly warm, they are of nice. The detail of the mids aren't as detailed as the CL. They have good mid and upper bass(like most) but sub bass is not as a big point, decent extension up till then though. The highs..yeah...they also have probelsm with htose

Vmoda M80: Are these really what all the "reviewers" loved?...seriously? They sound good but ...they are celebrity headphones. They are now known to me to be celebrity headphones for DJ's. They are much more perfected than the AMperiors but the amperiors have many details and sectors better than the M80's. The vocals are pulled back from forward. It has a semi spacious artifical soundstage. The highs are like those of many perfected brands sub $100...they don't try. They don't try to give you highs that appear much more often on studios than consumers. And as they are perfected to not give you those, they are generally smooth but don't come out too high. Has a midbass punch, but it is a very sterile punch I can't get into personally. You don't want it boomy but not a sterile pop and done either.

Stuido HD: Decent for consumers, yada yada

Solo HD's: Share many qualities as Vmodas

I got lazy at the beats lol
