The DAC and Amp will retain their own inputs and outputs meaning the DAC will have fixed RCA line out on the back and amp O2 will have RCA input on the back so that while they are connected internally, they can be "Split" apart and be used like seperate units with other things :)

You could connect it externally if you felt like it then. tongue.gif Or for no reason have the RCAs on both the amp and DAC connected for fun.

For the DAC:  line out <-> internal amp

For the amp:  line in <-> internal DAC

Or maybe one of those things where if headphones are plugged in it mutes the RCA outs? Or has this not even been designed yet?

I'd think that Boris would make it so that if you turned one off, it would disconnect it internally and connect to the external input/output. A push button or rocker switch is your choice.

nah, you were hidding, I know.

Read the LN, the ep 14 of SAO was NOT NEARLY as good as the LN chapter of it. Some of the stuff that happened was BS though. Not in the LN that is. Or moved WAY too quickly.

I recommend reading the last part of the LN while listening to Truth by Ito Yuna

You could...it would only serve as an aesthetic thing as some top dollar stacking units use external connectors from unit to unit as I guess you buy them seperately.

The CPU on the board and instructions will make it so that you wont' fry your units

I will find you once you come back from that open house and punch you.

Meh, I don't want to. I should be doing homework right now considering I've merely done any of it.

no switches however, that was my first idea but the problem is..you will blow stuff up. As with a simple switch, you can forget to switch the O2 to the right setting and fry one of the two units as you may have the DAC still working and inputing to the O2 while you are using another desktop DAC with the O2 and just forgot.

This is why.. WE HAVE A PCB beyersmile.png custom made. so we don't mess up :)

No, plug in to mute won't happen on this. I believe, too hard I think.

That's what I was thinking. The switches don't really make sense actually.

I see. So basically they each (DAC and amp) have their own individual power switches? This way:

If DAC is on and amp is off -> DAC line out

If DAC is off and amp is on -> amp line in

If DAC and amp are on -> headphone out (line out/in both inactive?)

???

By the way, is this able to have USB? It would be unusable to me if it didn't. How would it switch between USB/coax or whatever I wonder?

It was the previous possibility but now Boris has the processor so yeah, it will happen by itself.

The PCB might control that (the one with the processor) if Boris adds it into the instructions, but it might end up staying on just because something is plugged in and that source is on.

IIRC 16/44.1 support over USB.

I don't know how Borisu programed it, if he even "turned" a unit off...and I forgot

Will there be two power switches or just one? I think just one?

YES!

USB and Coaxil OR optical

there will be a switch, there is a part on the PCB that allows you to solder a switch to it.

Yeah, even HAiburi admited he will blow crap up.

nope

16 bit by 48KHz over USB only :/

but ....192KHz over S/PDIF hahahahaha :) gs1000.gif

But honestly....who really needs 192KHz?

I don't give a crap about or really even believe in 192kHz. All my stuff is in 16/44.

Still confused on how the switching between DAC and amp works then...I guess maybe borisu can clarify later?

For example, I'm listening to headphones, but then I want to switch to DAC line out so I can use speakers. How would I do that?

Still, you're not twice my size. I'm not that small anymore. I was ridiculously small in all of my years in middle school. Either we're the same height, I'm slightly shorter, or I'm slightly taller than you. One of those 3.

Yeah, he already posted his instructinos to test on the first unit being sent out which is either Haiburis or Kalbees or whatever.

your speakers would be plugged into the DAC RCA out on the back and so while listening, you just hit a switch or push in button and the until will switch so that the O2 will be turned off (or left on) but the signal will then be redirected so that it is given to the DAC until only of which it will only do DAC output.

like the audio gd, you hit the DAC output and bam. Done.
