You are sensitive to treble so I think you should make note of that. We here in the thread know that and know that your opinions on the AD900 and what not are just your favorites and subjective stuff but other people reading it will take it as actual fact..just a word of warning though. AD900/Q701/HD650 fit different types of people. And you should always or almost always make note that its your opinion and make note of any "differences" from norm you have like your treble spike sensitivity.

I don't like very bad treble spikes but if you can't even endue th Q701's then you must be much much more sensitive to them than I am.

Just watched ep 2 of Noir, again, decent, will watch to see how it goes, nothing happening yet.
I was actually referring to the treble spikes on the B2, coming from the hifiman RE-ZERO the Q701s sounded like freaking basshead cans. I had no trouble with the treble, but that darn bass actually EXISTED on the Q701s, unlike the zeros. Yeah, considering the fact that neither my receiver nor E7 could drive the Q701 worth a darn was probably the main reason i returned them. That and the fact the soundstage was outta whack, and it was uncomfortable. Although the fit wouldve probably been better With time.Then again I had the same feeling of "OMG BASS EXISTS!" going from the B2->HD600. And HD600->Eph-100 and finally eph-100->car stereo w/sub, but SQ starts to go down from the HD600...
Anyway... /random off-topic-on-forum anecdote.

I'm pretty sensitive to treble also... did I mention how I was getting to riled up in the classroom thanks to a nice 16kHz spike? Dammit, I have class in that room again tomorrow.

This, by the way, was measured with the prof still talking.
We're talking about the mic on the iPhone... if already that can detect such a sharp 16kHz spike, I'm sure actual readings would be quite devastating. I'll probably talk to the school about that electronic buzz. Gives me major headaches.

Back to the Q701, I do find the E17 to drive it just well. It still sounds better from the E9 thanks to it's slightly warmer sound, but that's about it.
My brother hasn't been using headphones lately so I took his Q701, plugged it in to my Nikko 7075 (found a way to virtually remove the 60Hz humming). This amp can surely blow the Q701 drivers so let's not say it's not powerful enough lol. Used a potentiometer to lower the line volume to like 5%, then the amp volume is not even at 50%. Aye, going to refamiliarize with the sound.

I don't actually find the trebles that bad on the Q701. But more sibilant it is, than my modded orthos.
Sound stage is "whacked" indeed... tracks with airy sounding recordings become pretty uncomfortable, but others are passable.
Has more bass but not better bass, surprisingly.

I have a pair of re0... I don't actually find it bass light o_O and it's supposed to have less bass than re-ZERO.
Just need some really good seal to get that bass, which is my biggest headache; IEM tips and me just don't mix well.
Hence I am getting rid of all my IEMs somehow. gah.
One of these days I'll throw it in the FS forums for like $25 or something.

Sadly, everyone is entitled to their opinions, and the lack of subjective data doesn't help.
That's why I like graphs. I read people's reviews, I put more faith in some people's views than others, but I won't find myself quoting specific people as reference because... everyone's tastes are just different.
From what I've been seeing lately, stuff people find bass light = I don't find it particularly light; I seem to be sensitive to bass.
From what I've been seeing also, treble spikes can get to be pretty easy, and give me headaches.
At least knowing this I have a pretty good idea of what to translate from people's review.

BUT our ears do adapt to specific sound signatures. Give me long enough and I'll come to find Q701 sound normal, but that stage is still weird. I feel like sound it coming to my ears in a vortex bowl, and it's making me dizzy =_=;;

I actually don't really like the E11 frankly, but since my headphone jack on my iPod is broken right now, and I have a trip coming up I could either:
1: buy the E11
2: take apart my iPod and fix it (not desirable) or
3: lug around my O2
the noise floor is really high, and there is more distortion than my O2, which has a dead silent noise floor.
That being said, it's better than a cmoy that's for sure. At least the E11 maintains a flat FR unlike the cmoy. Then again my ideal setup is to have no distortion from anything other than headphones...

Maybe I got a bad batch or the tips just couldn't fit right. Either way, I felt the B2s had much more bass. I guess I'm Not as bass sensitive thanks to subwoofers. Haha!

I was told differently, and there r different cMoys sadly, I have the JDS Labs 2x 9V which was recommended to me over the E11, due to the E11 having a TON of RF noise [apprently] a Fellow Named AstralStorm and this guy THIS guy he''s a graph posting BIG electrical Technical term usin mama jama! So he's been right so far but who knows... I do notice that the cMoy has more detail and better highs than my E6 which sounds terriably Dark and bloated

 

So how does the E11 compare to the E6 [heck I can get an E11 RIGHT now and I just might]

and yea the Dt 880 are bright and that's what I want! Nujabes has some nice warm bass in his music, and that bass REALLY cuts the Highs dwn on my dark cans, so to overcome his awesome warmth a warm can will be nice!

Oh did I mention I'm Anti Beats and Anti Pro 900s now xD[ sorry bowie but I've been following the Appreciation thread and have watched ppl RAVE with hype only to eventually get rid of em,,, I think for my mid bass needs the Dt 990 will be my friend [and if I love the dt 880 then the 990 is next purcahse]

 

ALSO I discoverved that my Zune HD is a Dark Dap, and I use a Dark EQ on it... with a Dark Amp and DARK cans... which basically means Dub Step sounds great to me, as I like my Dub Dark, I will say that the cMoy does a better job as an amp than the Fiio, the cMoy adds more depth and Detail to the bass, where as the Fiio just bloats it....

 

Also I bought some Fish Finger Today for $30, got me a good bit of his music all in Wave... I want to get L-wiz but it's running me about $70 atm so I'll need to w8 on that >.> [that is ofcuse also in wave] and I'm buying from Junodownload because they are .25 cents cheaper than Beat Port

 

So many Beyer, so JELLY

 

I'm not sure if I ever own a Beyer, I'd get the DT880 or get the T1. One thing's for sure, it's still far off in the future.

 

Also the same case for Senns. Get the HD600 or HD650

Haha, my room is incompatible with subwoofers. So space on the ground... while I did take pictures of my desk, the floor is not to be shown @_@
Already the room is small enough, I crammed two desks and two chairs inside. Then there's stuff on the ground... yep.

But yeah, it could be the stock tips. I recall it comes with two types of tips, the clear ones and the black ones?
The clear ones always fall out either of my ears or the tips themselves. The black ones hold much better, but still the fit is ambiguous in my ears.
Don't feel like buying different tips to try since I kind of grew out of the using IEM phase. Definitely more portable but I find little advantage in terms of isolation at this point, be it from microphonics or bad tips fitting.

Well... the Senns are definitely not beautiful looking stuff... lol
At least to me xD not that the T50RP is much prettier, though my colleague at work thinks they look cool...? o_o


Catching up on my anime... just finished Kokoro Connect and... what kind of a ending is that?!
If they're ending it like that I sure hope there's a season two... but that wouldn't really work either.

Anyway, yay, Hidamari! And ff need to focus hard on my school work now.

e.e how old are you, or rather are you old enough to work a job and drive a car :x, because that's what I had to do to get to be able to buy one pair of byers and plan to save for another! ANd my Dt 880s will be here in 9 or so hours <3

 

Also. the cMoy is COLORED... that makes sense! But EWW COLORED, I want a COLD LEAN amp for my dt 880's so I can really use them as referance, although I know the coloration from the DAP and Amp will make the Dt 880s more enjoyable... still I want something nice and CLEAN to amp them out of <3, plus I wanted the Fiio E11 anyways so I can get em both now might as well! An I had exactly $59 extra in mah Car budget so <3 off it went! I orded right from B&H Video, same price as Amazon without the worry of a fake I hope! But B&H is closed it seems so thats why the 2 week w8 xD

 

So I shall have MUCH FUN with the Dt 880 then I can get to work wid it in 2 weeks! Plus the E11 is warmer so it should help the XB 700 to :x [but man I wanna run that Dt 990 through the cMoy :D for that FUN Mid bass]

I'm 19, but not yet working and driving. Getting a licence here is VERY easy. 1 month max if you are lazy or attend the classes on weekends

 

I want to get a part time job, but my parents said no. Saying that I'll lack + uninterested in my studies after a while

Aww sorry to hear that, well yea I found out the cMoy is colored :x NO ME GUSTA but YES ME GUSTA lol, I'll tell you how a COLORED dt 880 sounds then in 2 weeks I'll give you the Refrance review lol. Not to mad but Freaking Astral Storm... recommending a COLORED amp lol
