You're welcome.

*hurls* It looks bad, but yup, it'll be on my head so I won't notice, although why do they go with glossy finishes now? Sort of looks like cheap plastic (not that I care because it's a $300+ piece of "cheap plastic").

I want the GR07s all of a sudden...

HD600s can be usually found for $300 and the HD650 can be found for $300 used...
I won't lie, the GR07s are a great bang for the buck, better than the Hd600s per dollar. Of course, I got my Gr07 MK2s gently used with 6 extra meelectronics tri flanges and a few klipsch gels for $115...
Be warned though, the reason this individual was selling them is because of the fit. They're a lot like a custom in that most of it is outside your ear canal itself and it has a weird insertion. The nozzles do move around to help with this though.
But like I said earlier, I'm not selling the HD600s even though the GR07s come close, they still don't have the same timbre or soundstage

But guess that won't apply for in-store listening.

Can projectH drive those 600ohms?
Impedance is just a number.
My 40 ohm Brainwavz B2s are more sensitive than the EPH-100 and GR07 even though they have lower impedance. (can't remember exactly now)
The Hd600s (300 ohm) are also a lot easier to drive than the Q701s, which only have ~61 ohms impedance If I remember correctly.

@borisu
Ive learned many of its functions already. Whatdoes yours look like? I have the touchpad
@kalbee
I heard the same. Banning that is. Doesnt matter. I got my nspire super cheap. I will use nspire in dorm to help and my trusty ti 30 ii xs for class

...what?! touchpad on calculator?
 What the heck... I feel so old lol, this technology gap.

By the way, this song was pretty famous a few years back... wonder how many of you guys also know it?

And for those more visual, graphing comes pretty useful learning what moves the graph where.

But of course we would program our own stuff to make homework easier.
And load games on it. Not sure if you guys do that too lol. It was kinda like having a gameboy in class.
Wolfram alpha is a thing now though, instead of graphing calculators. Mostly because the ti84+SE can't do indefinite integrals or derivatives.
And I tried to load Pokemon blue onto a friends 84+, but it either kept running out of memory or crashing mad.gif

There's impedance and sensitivity.

16ohm and 50dB/mW sensitivity would be kinda hard to drive too.

Then there's also what do they call that... damping factor? and efficiency? no idea.

I can only say that if I add 5 layer of felt to the back of my drivers it will take more power to drive the headphone to the same volume. That is, not taking into account ANY sound variation that will cause xD

It's not just a number. If anything, an iPod cannot drive the 250ohm DT880 to proper listening levels. Volume just doesn't go high enough.

I'm talking about volume in dB though. Cause I don't know what causes the Q701 to sound lifeless when not properly amped.

True that. One needs to listen to as many headphones as possible to get a sense of what they like. Just sharing my personal opinions.
Speaking of, I just found what I will consider the ideal bass head setup for me ATM:
EPH-100 + Fiio E11 EQ'd with bass boost level 2.

Not sure lol. I was just trying to say that impedance isnt the only thing to go off of when looking at how hard a headphone is to drive.
That may have been what happened with my q701s though considering the fact I only used the E7 to drive them...

lol yeah...

HD600--300ohms impedance + 97dB/mW (i'm guessing thats what they mean by SPL, cause SPL alone makes no sense for headphones)

Q701--62ohms impedance + 105dB/mW or something like that.

Q701 should be easier to drive no matter. But apparently they don't sound good unless properly amped...

My ignorant self is starting to think that it sounds good on a better amp because of the amp not the headphones.

Don't want to start any conspiracy theories here lol, imma leave it at that.

Oh! Saw FiiO E3's locally in stores! cool stuff :D

Now I wonder if they're real >_>;; there's another store that carries FiiO stuff but it seems more legit, this store carries really odd stock... including electronic parts that look like they've been ripped off broken devices.

I do know for sure that the Q701 sounded like absolute garbage coming from my iPod. There was hissing and everything was just WRONG!
But the HD600s sound just fine.
When I had nothing other than the B2s to listen to, I actually hooked up the 600s to my iPad and watched Netflix while I was away from home.
Neither the source or amp mad them sound great, but still...

Wait, you heard and only heard Q701's directly from an iPod?

MEchy is learning these days :) Big words now :)

@Kalbee

yep, fancy computers

@mechy

yep, My TI nspire should be able to load it well, it has quite a bit more power than the 84 plus SE

This. I'm pretty sure "He Who Must Not Be Named" had that in mind when he designed it.

This. Wut?

Lol.

Too easy to cheat on graphical calculators, that's why.

In order to prevent students from loading programs that will solve everything, make everyone use scientific calculators with minimum functions. Hence at my university, if I don't get a calculator that is approved by the department, get their sticker seal of approval on it, then I'm not allowed any calculator for my exams. YES, even if it's a open book exam.

Meanwhile in high school they want us to get graphical calculators so we can learn how graphs look like.

Which basically lasts 3 years before they have to be stored away forevermore.

I have no idea how to use a graphical calculator, reason being that I've only ever used a scientific calculator with little functions.

The new chapters of karate shoukoushi kohinata minoru are freaking hilarious.

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

The captain accidentally applies for a job at a porn studio and meets a girl from the naginata club  during his interview lol.

Caught both K and tempest today. K was quite a looker but I will say it was a cluster of too many concepts going on plot wise. That being said, I cannot really judge much based off of what I saw. I can only say I'm interested in it's future prospects. Zetsuen no Tempest was everything I could of hoped for honestly. BONES really brought their A game here and the atmosphere of the while thing was quite capturing.

Still waiting on Btoom and I may or may not watch Hidamari Sketch.

Nonononononono, I had $350 to burn and quickly/foolishly decided to buy the Q701s and the best amp/dac I could afford with the remaining money. (E7)
I hooked them up directly to my iPod out of curiosity...
I really liked the lime green LOL
Looking back, I was trying to decide between the Q701 and Hd598, shoulda gone with the 598. Then again, those are fugly.
And if I had got the HD598s, I wouldn't have got the B2s, which basically introduced me to the concept of timbre smily_headphones1.gif
And treble spikes mad.gif
Big words? Lolwut?

The E7 can't drive or is good enough for the Q701's. The E17 only just had enough power and even then the E17 had over 2X the power of the E7.

The treble "spikes" are more active in the initial hours.

You are sensitive to treble so I think you should make note of that. We here in the thread know that and know that your opinions on the AD900 and what not are just your favorites and subjective stuff but other people reading it will take it as actual fact..just a word of warning though. AD900/Q701/HD650 fit different types of people. And you should always or almost always make note that its your opinion and make note of any "differences" from norm you have like your treble spike sensitivity.

I don't like very bad treble spikes but if you can't even endue th Q701's then you must be much much more sensitive to them than I am.

Just watched ep 2 of Noir, again, decent, will watch to see how it goes, nothing happening yet.

I was actually referring to the treble spikes on the B2, coming from the hifiman RE-ZERO the Q701s sounded like freaking basshead cans. I had no trouble with the treble, but that darn bass actually EXISTED on the Q701s, unlike the zeros. Yeah, considering the fact that neither my receiver nor E7 could drive the Q701 worth a darn was probably the main reason i returned them. That and the fact the soundstage was outta whack, and it was uncomfortable. Although the fit wouldve probably been better With time. Then again I had the same feeling of "OMG BASS EXISTS!" going from the B2->HD600. And HD600->Eph-100 and finally eph-100->car stereo w/sub, but SQ starts to go down from the HD600...
Anyway... /random off-topic-on-forum anecdote.
