Damn it, I just typed a bunch of stuff that I'm too lazy to retype. Screw Safari. I'm on a MacBook Pro Retina right now at best buy. The resolution is nice and the MacBooks here are actually running cool. The iMacs on the other hand, not so much. The resolution on this display is astounding and very nice.

Heating up soldering iron right now.

Desoldering is still a pain, but I'll just hope that I'll get better at it over time.

What for PCB? THAT'S EASY!!! Just use a pair of pillars to hold the component, heat up all the solder on the other side and pull it right out.
Try desolder components on a prefboard with bended pins!!

I met a few Japanese people tonight via my g/f and talked about Shogi and classical music with some guy called Tomo.

It was pretty cool.

It's normal for a woman to hate/dislike otaku but hate animes? What's up with her?

Hmm, nevermind what I just said.

It was a pain, now that I finally have proper equipment it ain't so bad.
Removing the components isn't the hardest part, it's cleaning up afterwards. But now that I have a properly working soldering pump, as well as a significantly better soldering iron, that's all the past.

I have desoldered Q9-12, R4 and C1. Now turn on the board like normal, and measure the stuff you said earlier?

Yes.

I would recommend using desoldering braid instead of pump.

because there's a chance of damaging the pad. (Which is very bad.)

BTW... What is the value of R30 and R31?
The circuit says 0... Superconductor???

Not saying either Geass or Death Note are bad, but just that I really dislike their respective styles/genres. It's a subjective thing.

Watched Death Note all the way through but didn't keep it. File under entertaining but not something I know for sure I'd ever want to watch again.

Understandable. Seinen is probably my favorite genre by far, though it isn't my most watched.

I'd say that Geass paints extreme patriotism in a negative way though. (Lelouch does eventually attempt to create a free nation with equal rights for all. Britannia, the Chinese Federation, and parts of the Japanese resistance all at some point play the part of the villain.)

I have a hard time imagining whats questionable with the animation though. It's a pretty typical Sunrise production: strong colors, well defined lines, emphasis on characters/objects over extreme background detail. Clamp's character designs are an acquired taste, but overall its an above average animation job (also typical for Sunrise).
