Nah, that's the correct way :>

No wonder Tatsuya-kun is attracted to them. :p

I just decided to go for neutrality/accuracy (which is the entire point of high fidelity) right now, that's all. Out of all the headphones I've read about, the HD 800 has ten times more reputation than most others in this department.

I especially like to see reports such as these from those who have heard dozens of high-end systems.

I consider the HD800 to be the most tonally neutral of all the headphones that I've ever had the pleasure of hearing.

In my opinion, the HD800 is the neutrality king. Depending on the setup, the HD800 may sound warm or bright. Because of its finicky nature with regard to amplification, many have described the HD800 as bright, but I cannot get on board with this description. I have heard the same pair of HD800's sound both dark and bright when paired with different setups. It really is a very amp-dependent headphone.

I did not find the HD800 to be bright headphones. They are very neutral to me. The times I thought them to be bright I realized the song was at fault being a bright recording. When something was bright on HD800 was even bright on LCD2. Be careful as  there are many bright recordings out there. So the treble is very very well defined  and is very sparkly when it is needed to. Unfortunately the sound is a slight sibilant but usually when it got too sibilant it was the recordings fault as well.

Granted, quantity of comments (ie social proof) isn't the final word. The only thing that matters in the end is what I think of them.

Considering that I have the opportunity to get a full system (HD 800 + amp/DAC) for $1,500, it's a steal compared to some of the crazier stuff I lust after.
