Don't even try to convince him.

Another comic (well it's a cartoon tbh) that had quiet the impact on me was Pinky and the Brain.

I suppose I'm a more diverse individual. I can switch from dark and serious to bright and silly at the drop of a hat.

I used to read up on nihilism (such as here). There seem to be different schools of nihilistic thought. Personally, I just hold the contention that meaning is a subjective thing that must be interpreted and experienced by the individual, while nothing has inherent meaning in and of itself.

Did you ever watch Teen Titans? In later episodes, there is a supervillain bent on world domination called The Brain. My brother made jokes about him actually being Brain the mouse from that show.

Teen Titans is probably the darkest kids show. The creator is an older man who stated in an interview that certain scenes (such as the ones with Terra, my favorite character) caused him to cry uncontrollably.

Just joking about it is a no go for me.

Well, if you grew up as an Asian living in Australia, you have no choice but to take everything of that nature lightly and not to heart, because school shootings is not an option here.

Oh, and that was a joke, by the way.

I did. Was alright.

Older man crying because of kids shows.
That sounds like a subreddit I would check out.

I guess. Doesn't make it okay though.

Did you see all the episodes, though? It was pretty intense and dark at times.

I totally get why some people would be brought to tears by the tragedy of Terra's story, for example.

What about this one?

A blonde, brunette and a redhead walks into a bar and the bartender says if you go into the bathroom there's a magic mirror in there if you tell it, something true it will give you a prize but if you tell it a lie you will be sucked inside forever so the Brunette walks in and says I think I'm the smartest girl in this bar then out pops the keys to her new mercedes benz then the redhead pops in and says I think I'm the prettiest girl in this bar and out pops a million dollars in cash out she runs too spend it as fast as she could then in comes the blonde she says I Think... then in a split second she is pulled into the mirror and never seen again.

It's about blondes instead of women in general.

Fundamentally, it's never OK, but because it's so commonplace these days, few people are actually feigned by it.

Nope, not funny. Don't like it. Dumb stereotype.

Which is sad.

No joke: I like women much, much more than men, and most of my friends are female.

Am I sexist or just sexy? :p

I'd rather be like "meh" *shrugs shoulders* rather than "this makes me upset even though it has nothing to do with me".

I tried to read that, but in my sleepy state I could do no more than skim it.

As with all things philosophical, it is extremely difficult to convey the concepts involved.
I personally believe that there is no purpose or inherit value to anything. Everything we give value to is based on personal judgement -- something human. Morals are irrelevant in the grand scheme of things, and can hence be ignored. It's quite an enlightening discipline. Thoughts along the lines of nihilism have allowed me to realize many things. For example that there is no purpose in life, and hence we have no obligation to live it in whatever way. We can just choose to live life the way we want, as far as situations permit. Morals can be ignored for personal gain, which is quite useful. Judgement is stupid, I don't easily judge others, and I recognize that it's natural for others to get angry at me. This allows me to solve social conflicts quickly, and without leaving a bitter after taste.

Completely throwing away the principle of morals and judgement (though of course still acting like a normal human. humanity is not something I can transcend) does not actively change your life that much, but it does give a you strong sense of relief. Nothing matters, and that's a good thing.

My question was more along the lines of, "Do you consider this to be sexist?" (It's obviously a dumb joke.)
