Transferring nearly 20 GB of audio onto my iPod - for a single artist!

(This is related to Asian music, because this artist does rap versions of video game tunes, hehe)

10.4 MB/second transfer speed - shouldn't take much longer.

Huh, that's going to take awhile.

Don't really bother stuffing my mobile stuff with new music too often. Probably won't be able to listen to it all before getting back home, in which case my PC's library becomes the main source

I hope it doesn't, it's a really boring process xD

Freight forwarding?

Nope, relative in Hong Kong's going to send it over.

From what I recall, transferring music to an iPod Classic was surprisingly fast (given the old 30-pin interface).

About 20 minutes, and it's almost complete.

I don't have a respectable desktop setup yet, so my iPod sounds much better than my laptop. I like the idea of getting a dedicated music server someday. (I already have a 12 TB external hard drive array.)

That's why you do other things while waiting!

And since I have Rockbox now and can do everything manually drag and drop style, I listed the actual transfer speed right after that post.

I've never heard of Lockbox, so I wouldn't be able to tell you. :p

Rockbox, on the other hand, is a custom firmware that is not only superior interface-wise, but in the sound quality department as well.

On the original firmware for my iPod Classic, music sounded so bland and boring on the default setting. I would have to set it to the Electronic EQ setting for it to be enjoyable.

After installing Rockbox, I don't even need to alter the EQ - though I intend to soon, to see how I can customize the sound.

The iPod Classic had a terrible stock EQ, but Rockbox didn't have inline remote or iPod dock support. So I sold it!

But i guess it does change the SQ of the iPod Classic, what to be real, it's pretty good giving the value that those are sold, what i think it's a good thing.

Really? that's bizarre if you ask me, always thought it was supported on the hardware side, not on the software side.

Lockbox is a custom firmware for the iPod Classic that only let's you listen a limited amount of songs each day and requires a password for each song. :P
