It's very hard to single out one out of the many I like, and I like different headphones for different applications/genres, so if I to single out one, I'd say it's tied between the Sennheiser HD650 or AKG K701.
I prefer the Beats Studio 2.0 Wireless or the Sony MDR-10R when I'm out and about, because they both do much better in noisy environments, and their somewhat bass-heavy balance aligns with my tastes when listening to J-Core or stuff like that.
That's cool. Have you heard any of the high-end models to compare with?
Also worth mentioning are my DIY custom original Beats Studio (completely rewired, Beats Executive driver, Bluetooth conversion) and resurrected Beats Executive (headband replacement, TDK drivers, active noise cancellation removed)

Your custom jobs are even cooler. I posted a pic of those million dollar diamond-covered Beats in another thread and someone made a joke about Lil Wayne replacing the drivers with Focal.
Yooo guys! What's happening? It's been a very long time I haven't passed by here. I've been enjoying my holidays in my home country and did some dirty work on my cherished car. It was tough and there were some very cringe worthy moments. I haven't got the time to catch up on anime though.
Here's what I bought, K&N air filter, 2.5" to 2 inch coupler, a breather filter and hose clamps.
Taking the old stock airbox out and hacking away the upper cover.
Here's what this DIY short ram intake looks like installed.
And here it is installed in the car.
The results are surprising. It sounds so much better with a deeper growl and it pulls harder at higher revs and also much more responsive.
Oh yeah I need to stop at Jaben just to see what they have.
Now we're talkin'. Vehicle engine sound quality! =D
Nope, just confused the original meaning with the meaning of Internet meme...
Heck, you aren't even required to show up for a lecture; you just have to do the assignments and tests.
I remember that time a Chinese student sold a kidney to buy an iPhone and an iPad. Back when Apple's products were worth selling organs for.
I was the opposite in college. I socialized with the professors, skipped tests, and still aced certain classes. lol
But, but, with mathematics I could save the world, I think.
I mean, how can you save the world if you don't even understand the topological structure of the phase space of the universe? In fact -- how can you even dare to spread your sandwich without understanding such basic facts?
I am the Lazerking of Murdervania.
This is only loosely related: have you ever played laser tag? Before I hit double digits, I had mini laser tag equipment. So many fun times running around with the other neighborhood kids.
Next I tried the NAD Viso HP50 and I found it that it sounds similar to the Focal Spirit Pro only smoother and more comfortable. It's incredibly balanced and does any kind of genre of music extremely well but sadly there's nothing that makes it sound special, it's a jack of all trades, master of none kind of headphone. If I were given the choice to only take one headphone for the rest of my life without an amp, this might be it.
The Focal Spirit Professional is my next planned headphone purchase, primarily due to its neutrality and accuracy paired with a punchy, engaging sound.
...Did you join this thread because of me? XD
Huh, interesting.... I still haven't hear an automagic cable that improved the sound by any perceivable difference, and all the software tweaks I've done have been so minimal that I've never bothered repeating them.
Haha, deputy sheriff lived right next to you? That sounds like trouble to my friends and I...
That does sound pretty awesome though, and I'm assuming you didn't get hinamizawa syndrome? ;)
Yeah, good luck finding many girls in this hobby that weren't just dragged into it by their husband/bf/whatever. I almost feel like a passion for music is more common in younger folks say 15-25 than the older generations, but I feel it's always been that way for all generations... Who knows.
Yup, I guess it's all about what your priorities are though. If you're a basshead, lambdas aren't for you. Of course if you want something stylish or built well, they aren't it either. But I wanted absolute transparency and something that sounded very "clear" and "clean" sounding without being harsh sounding and giving me a headache. All the TOTL planar magnetic headphones (save the Paradox Slant, though that's not technically TOTL) has failed my "does it sound harsh with a certain porn game song" test. Most of them sound harsh, while others just sound too colored/not transparent or "clear" enough. Same with most dynamics, and even a few of the lambdas.
In case you're curious, here's my test song:
No, I won't buy all of them now, just when I get the money and maybe when some of my friends want stuff too, that way we can split shipping costs.
I already did. Nice song that is. :)
Eeew mirrorless. :P
Good luck using it! It took me about a year to really feel confident in my ability to use my DSLR.
I vaguely remember you trying to lure me to Washington to trap me in your mechymouse spider web and suck out my innards invite me to Washington to listen to audio gear...but I can't remember if it was the both of you or just one.
Yup yup, Micey said it. We met on head-fi and Michelle gave me an unofficial tour of the uni I got accepted to that she'd been going to for the past four years, and then last year we hung out a lot.
Actually, the "dislike" comment was about the love songs. lol. That's funny, anyway, because metal accounts for roughly half of what I listen to, and I can't stand Metallica, especially since they started to sound more like country music. You probably just haven't heard any good metal. Lots of it is very melodic and more creative than most mainstream music.
My new headphone cable is the exact same one I used to have, but brand new instead of over two years old. It sounds much better than the remote cable too.
I've known him all my life (since before he got that job) and was friends with his son, so I visited their house many times a week. In another town, I lived a few houses away from the sheriff. His daughter was in the same grade as me, but we weren't close.
Of course I didn't get Hinamizawa Syndro- What was that? I can hear Oyashiro-sama's footsteps! And what are these maggots? *scratch scratch* Eeeyaarrgghh! =P
"Harsh" is something I don't hear often about planar magnetic headphones. I mean, Audeze are supposed to sound smooth and lush, for example. I usually hear "harsh" about the piercing treble of certain dynamic headphones. And actually, from what little I have read about Lambdas, I think I did hear the word "harsh" mentioned about a few of them.
So many girls named Saya...
I have a manual camera (Pentax K1000) where you do everything yourself as well. It's not too difficult to learn.
Oh, so her name's Michelle? You learn something new every day!
Oh, whooops! I don't think I've heard any Metallica songs that sounded country-ish yet, but okay. My friends said the same thing about metal, and I listened to their suggestions, but still didn't like the songs one bit.
Huh, that's interesting. Was the old one really corroded or something?
Hahaha, what is it with you and Sherrifs?
Oh no, marginal spoilers for Higurashi! D:
The LCD2 is one of those that doesn't sound harsh, but it just sounds too dull and rolled off to me. Also, the headband does not work for my head one bit, so I could never consider owning one. It was literally so bad, that when I was on a week long tour for the LCD2, I quit using it halfway through and went back to my Mad Dogs instead, which took me at least an hour to differentiate the sound between the two.
She's the best character named Saya though!
Lol, reminds me of the AKG K1000! I'm just too lazy to set my camera to manual mode and I just use P mode instead, that way I can most likely get a nice shot without having to fiddle with all the dials while people are looking at me funny.
Yeah... I thought that was given in the thread a little while back though?
Yup, that's why you remove them yourself when need be.
I do? Usually it's so bad it's funny.
Nope, just like the Mac vs PC debate will rage on forever, so will sub vs dub. XD
Did you and @mechgamer123 both say "yup yup" before you met?
...or more accurately...
Hahaha, I didn't even catch that, that is frightening! Yes I did.
Yay, good song!
Me too! I think I even have two copies actually... :D
Yeah, I'm 99% sure you will love some of the metal I listen to. I'll show you someday...
The old cable had deteriorated and partially shorted out, forcing me to twist and hold it a certain way to get the signal to both channels. In addition to functioning properly, the new cable has a slightly different sound signature, despite being the same one.
Mere coincidence...or is it?
...says the girl who has not seen any of the three different Sayas of the Blood franchise in action. =P
I have digital cameras too, but manual cameras are completely different. They don't require batteries and you literally do everything yourself.
I don't know, I didn't start reading this thread until I started participating.
Speaking of bad voice acting, have you seen Rurouni Kenshin? The original English dub was very well done, but Crackle now streams a new English dub that is the worst I have ever heard. I'm watching it just for laughs.
You didn't notice that she also says "yup yup"?
I only have ELO's Greatest Hits CD. Grew up listening to it. :)
You and I seem to be the only two recently who make super-long reply posts after being away from the thread.
Can't wait to see Mirai Nikki.
...Had a double-take moment. Thought I was looking in the mirror. =P
Or how about eating it together with other peops and eat it in one go? If people aren't hungry anymore then STUFF IT IN THEIR FREAKING MOUTHS TILL IT'S ALL GONE.
