Ah ha. I do want to complete a small build at some point. I've been keeping an eye on the BitFenix Prodigy and the Fractal Node 304. Both seem to be nice cases. But I have a sneaking suspicion my next buy will be a (refurbished) Lenovo M73 Tiny. I think that it would make an efficient transcoding Plex server without taking up a lot of space or drawing a ton of power. All for under $300.

Hello, my lovies. Just woke up at midnight - ready to rock 'n' roll!

Uh...are you guys serious? Only two pages added while I was sleeping? I usually have to read through ten.

haha wtf...I did collect and experiment with insects and the like as a chlid, though, and that included cicada shells.

I've always loved snakes (when I was a baby, I grabbed a python at a petting zoo and tried to wring its neck, not being developed enough to realize it could have swallowed me whole) and used to like spiders (had a wolf spider as a pet), but now I'm terrified of spiders. Go figure.

I brought a praying mantis nest to kindergarten show and tell once. Hundreds of babies hatched and terrorized the classroom! :veryevil:

Speaking of cicadas/higurashi...

Besides that...

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
The character design is really bugging me. I just can't take these 80's Glam Rock wig wearing baloon heads serious. Too much. Same thing with the Clannad bug eyes.

I also can't stand these psycho murder faces. You know what I mean. "Look at my super super twisted grinning face! Yeah, you know I'm totally insane and evil blablabla."
It's just too much.

These generic "My love was rejected and I now have to violently stab people" plot is rather boring to me. I guess there is more to this whole scene but.....meh.
I generally don't really like murder stories that involve personal reasons like "this person betrayed me/cheated on me etc". Just not interesting to me most of the time.

Also have a few minor gripes. Why is this green haired chick having a fully equiped torture dungeon? Big ol' dumb wooden cross, a cell, variety of butcher knifes etc. Kind of stupid :|
And what's up with this 10-year old getting stabbed like 20 times without losing consciousness?
In one shot she looked like has only seconds to live but is totally fine in the next one when she starts talking about this bloke who loved her or whatever.

(I'm not putting this in a spoiler box, since it's not very specific.)

Oh, Higurashi has THE BEST (and most perplexing) plot I have ever seen in an anime. (Though FMAB unraveled its plot in a way I enjoyed more.) All you saw was a five-minute scene, out of 60 episodes and an animated film.

I liked everything about the series, including the contrast between the cute and creepy stuff. The exaggerated facial expressions add to the intensity, as well as getting to know the characters in their more mundane/adorable daily lives so you understand more of the background or whatever.

So...you prefer murder stories that don't involve personal reasons? Actually, the antagonist of the series who is behind much of the madness (but is not revealed until the second season) does it for more idealistic reasons, in addition to personal ones.

For the record, she wasn't betrayed or rejected by the guy; even this part of the plot is far more complex than that.

Her family (who more or less run the village) owns the facility, if that matters.

Plot device, I guess - or you could think of it as the strength of the human spirit.

Higurashi - Real World Edition. (I shouldn't joke about something like this, though.)

Refer to above remark.

It's nice to know you have a stronger stomach than our dear Tom. =P I will tag you in a post I'm writing for Boris.

That's funny, because that song is on the iCarly iSoundtrack II!

If you like any pop, dance-pop, electropop, R&B, rock, etc., you might like some of her other songs.

Btw, I much prefer Silver Spoon to FMA. (same manga author)

Wait, have you even completed F/Z?

Anyway at least to me, action is hardly an important factor on its own...

I love anything that has to do with Fullmetal Alchemist. :)

(I hated how anticlimactic the ending of Brotherhood was, despite the great action.)

No, I have only seen a few moments of Fate/Zero and read episode descriptions. I mentioned it because Tom dismissed Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood as being "too shounen", which I interpret as having too much action - so I specified that Fate/Zero seems to actually have more action overall.

Definitely not the case.

General three main elements of "shounen": Friendship, Effort, Victory!

And also general speaking, "shounen" tend to be pretty straight forward in presentation like storytelling, character design, dialogue, joke, etc.

Its hard to deny that FMA is pretty much typical "shounen", and I would say F/Z is pretty far away from that.

Okay, then I didn't realize the definition was more extensive than that. I love how serious Fate/Zero is! FMAB throws in a little too much comedy sometimes.

Just means you get to upgrade earlier when the 800 series comes out. No biggie. :D

LOL, why such high end parts though? What's he gonna be doing with it???

Lol, I'm thankful for that so there wasn't as much to catch up on!

Hmm, for some reason I didn't really like that song you linked to. Her voice was good, just not my style.

All this case talk... I'm still on the honeymoon period for my 450D:

Just now waking up, eh? It's about time for me to head to bed. I'm generally going to sleep between 3AM and 5AM (eastern) so I can wake up at noon to get ready for work. Yay second shift.

Not sure if I will go with Nvidia for next build, considering currently AMD performs better on madVR (which is basically my main usage for graphic cards).

Nvidia has an advantage on the G-sync thingy though, but currently its only featured in some TN panel models =_=

Putting the shells on your face/head though...that's kind of a different story. XD

Wolf spiders are the common spider pet I thought. Never mind, I was thinking tarantula. We used to have a house spider as a pet. It was cool seeing it eat random flies from the house and spin thick cobwebs all over the container.

I can't say I've seen a praying mantis outside of a zoo before. I don't think they're native to Washington.
