I even placed a notice to newbies in my signature, since so many of them don't bother quoting.

Hmmm I don't. No intention to upgrade my gear in the near future and not much of a DIY or soundscience person. I'm sticking with the off-topic section for now. I get some PMs from time to time regarding my gear which is a much more convenient way than checking on all the threads themselves.

I may be mistaken, but I believe the downloadable PlayStation Store version had more customizable control schemes than that. My memory is a little fuzzy, since it was four years ago...I may have even downloaded a demo to PS Vita and tried it out. That is an amazing handheld console. I can't wait for the day when (or if?...) Sony makes good on their promise of "everything everywhere" and makes all previous PlayStation titles playable on PS4 and PS Vita.

Okay, back to cleaning up my room.

Oho! Loving the Attack On Titan references...but you guys are newbs:

So you heard the KGSSHV...what about the BHSE? That one gets amazing reviews, although I hear it sounds better with the SR-007 than it does with the SR-009.

That makes life easier, I suppose. "Gear" is my favorite audio term!

Yes, but you already said you read all the posts in this thread, as do I. Many aren't as meticulous.

Those faith-based email programs are so unreliable...and so the epic battle between Tom and technology rages on.

Do you have a text file showcasing my exploits? hehe

I assumed as much. At least a few people who see the post can enjoy the images.

Why the wood splitter? This is why.

"The replacement of the standard connector shell with either an Ebony or Cocobolo wood shell dramatically improves the performance of our cables. Eliminating the high resistance the heavy standard connector shells impose on the current flow is a proven factor in purifying the signal yielding a cleaner, clearer performance from the headphone."

"In the selection process both are picked from large blocks of pre-cut wood which produce a clear musical tone. This insures the contact between the final crafted wood shell and the internal connector housing addresses the vibration caused by signal flow through the wire in the most musical fashion."

Not sure if any of that would apply to IEM cables, though. The owner is a former Sennheiser engineer and is quite knowledgeable, judging from conversations I've had with him.

If you like the connectors, just look how cool the headphone cables look!

The second one is a hardwired version.

Wood is always classy. Still looking for a cable with a wooden plug and interconnect to go with my FX850. Would look so ridiculously vintage. Lol

Hmm I think wood looks ugly, black metal ftw.

To each his own I guess. I do find the FX850s to be one of the most beautiful IEMs I've ever seen. Obviously, excluding some CIEMs.

Hm, I don't know anything about IEM cables with wood. I'll let you know if I find anything out.

The ebony wood looks close enough to black metal. lol, and black metal is also my second favorite sub-genre of metal music.

But that is referring to the plug where the housing of the plug, say rca, is metal and connects to the Ground of the plug?

(so basically when you take off the enclosure of the rca plugs the resistance will fall and you will get dramatical improvements...)

Plenty of cables have wooden splitters. Don't think any have wooden plugs though, which is kinda lame when you go full wood and it goes down to the big plug and it's black plastic, or worse, shiny silver. D:
