SAO II has a powerful advantage over almost all the new series: a huge fan base, and they can actually take their time to develop a more complex and intriguing plot without been violent or aggressive or sexy. I do think it's boring but we'll see...

The 1bit disc seems to be an excellent gift for a musician.

At the very least they fixed Kirito's ALO hair in the second episode so that's a good start.

No, I was working in the living room and my phone was in my room.

Orz, should've had it in your pocket...

I don't get what's so bad about Win 8, 8.1 is even better considering it fixes those minor annoyances of Win8.

Also, it only took me 4 minutes from clicking "install" to Windows asking me to set up an account...

This.

And the start menu isn't gone, neither was the start button in Win 8 (just cleverly hidden in the corner or just accessed via charms, and you could also argue ITS ALWAYS BEEN THERE ON YOUR KEYBOARD, Ctrl + Esc if you don't have an operating system key). Live tiles are arguably more useful than how the previous start menu was. Don't want to see live tiles? Check the option for "Automatically go to all apps view when the start button is pressed" and wuala. Still don't like it? Get Launchy or use Win + S to open up Windows Search or just open your new fullscreen start menu and start typing the name of the program (or file maybe) that you want.

Lol yeah. One of the big annoyances of win8 for me was having to click between settings, files and apps, glad they fixed that in 8.1 though. :)

Yeah, the hate-train lost a bit of momentum but there a still a lot of people jumping on it.
Windows 8.1 really isn't bad.

Apparently Windows 9 will be bringing the desktop start menu back, we'll see...

Well if they stick to the LN roots, you won't get to see a complex or intriguing plot.
They already started relying on the sexy thing :D
And I'm not so sure if the average SAO super fan cares about a complex and intriguing plot
SAOs selling points were flashy animations, lots of gamer bait, high octane fights and gurls. Plot not so much.

Reinstalled Win8.1 pro on my HTPC too for good measure (and with a legit key!)

Haruhi-ing intensifies.

And yes, it's currently 107F here and I'm dying :#

107 in Walla Walla and 83 in Cincinnati? What is with this backwards weather pattern? Not complaining on my end since it's cooler than average for this time of year.

Aw fuu~ I'm at a street fair and there's a taiko performance. I should have brought my binaural microphones to see how well they handle the voltage input.

It's like 100% coming back unless Microsoft wants to crash.

I tried to watch SAO again (only got up to 15 apparently), I could not get past all the cringe.
Watched Rail Wars, seemed interesting but I don't know how much I want to wait for new episodes.

Now watching Psycho Pass, it's really good.

All these media posts about the CDC's smallpox vials containing so-called "live" viruses bugs me. Viruses aren't living organisms...they're just fragments of genetic material, of course they're still active after all of these years.

The only difference now is that Linux has become more popular with the public all of a sudden because of Win 8. XD

I would love it if AMD got their OpenGL drivers usable on Linux. NVIDIA's OpenGL drivers work as long as you write games or programs their way (AMD tries to follow all of OpenGL spec and ends up with a crap driver. AMD is building the driver as if you built a house with the panels first and then the framework/supports).

Wow, 7 pages in one day.

Well, 2 episodes into Yuru Yuri. It's a good change from the usual.
