It really does share a lot of similarities.

mmmm I hope it not another Gargantia or one of his works that runs around in circles for a bit :l
I just tend to find the works dark but dull (or stagnant).
BTW any history people here the way this war started really reminds me of World War I.
You mean that there's a parallelism between her and the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand?
A bit far fetched but you can look it that way.
Wow, we share a lot of reading interests. I adored The World God Only Knows. It was one of the series that actually hurt when it ended. I had the same reaction when FMP: Sigma ended; part of my life was over and I needed to find something to replace it. SKR is one I enjoy, so I'll be sure to check out HOTEL. And yeah, I don't read SKR at work for obvious reasons. The Breaker I've read and New Waves is one of my current favorite weekly reads. HOLYLAND I'll need to check out. And Sankarea is wonderful. I'm really looking forward to seeing what happens after the most recent development at the house. Negima was super cute. Akamatsu sensei does a great job of developing a wide range of characters (Love Hina, Negima, and UQ Holder!) for his stories. I'll add Ane Doki and Ichigo 100% to my list as well. I've also recently discovered Shokugeki no Soma which I think is one heck of an awesome series. I love the art style and the story is very fun.
Great to hear that!
Try Akumetsu, although it does get bloody at times. And slightly NSFW
How about taking care of children genre? I really like them. Someone needed recommendations before so I wrote the below for them. Anyway, try out my mini review and see what you like. No plot spoilers in it of course.
My Girl (Sahara Mizu) would be a great starting point. On a more general scale, many may find the others to be better in different categories. But I found My Girl by Sahara Mizu to be the only one that had close to everything. And especially, FEELS.
Try that one out first.
Ai****eruze Baby, Another one that is more on the SoL side, but that also deals with family relations and a personal relationship I loved was Ai****eruze Baby. It's more casual, but also intricate in its relationships at the same time. For the most part, the manga is much better, but the anime has a few differences. Most of those differences being taking out some questionable content the manga featured, and slight story changes. The only reason I would suggest watching the show is if you REALLY liked the manga. Ai****eruze Baby anime is one of the few shows that actually features a child voice actor in the series. It is unbelievably cute whenever she speaks. Anytime I re-read the manga now, I can hear the adorable voice squeaking through.
Usagi Drop is also quite casual, and pretty similar to Ai****eruze Baby, difference being that the caretaker is AGES older. This however, creates a new different take on story and handling situations. The manga is a different beast alltogether. Many hate it, some love it. Everyone has different opinions of it. I personally didn't hate it, but didn't find much in it.
Clannad After Story, is of course, the ultimate one. It requires a lengthy initial series and then second one. And has a plethora of additional movie content and games to go with it. However, Clannad, if you haven't seen it already, is a romance masterpiece of our generation. It doesn't do anything different different, but it provides you a look of a massive amount of time for the characters (almost a decade) with decent detail, and it executes it fairly well. You develop a great love and care for the characters, and the story is a journey through their happy times, the tough times, and especially life. Most series here require some tissues, but this show. Requires more than a box.
Kurenai is a very ideological anime. It doesn't have as much feel goodness as the others, not by a long shot. It is also a very deliberate series that is planned out in its entirety. From why every episode does what it does, and to why it often seems like its 'goodness' drops and peaks. Mainly because of the theme it is trying to get across. I won't say what it is, but it is quite interesting. I've only seen the anime, not the LN so I can't say more. But I can tell you that you should watch this series if you are looking for a much more realistic - yet somewhat idealistic - take on child care, and especially growing up.
In terms of manga. The only one that is phenomenal would be My Girl by Sahara Mizu and Ai****eruze Baby. Both have very strong themes, but are different in them.Ai****eruze Baby is more softer and SoL, while My Girl has a schiit ton more feels.
I recommend you try these two out. Both are phenomenal if you like the predicament and plot synopsis.
Yeah. The author pulled aNot a Spoiler again: (Click to show)
I wonder what Dutch dub will look like in anime...hmmm
Well after watching the first episode of Aldnoah.Zero I know which mecha anime to look forward for this season well there's only two anyway.
It starts slow but gradually ups the tension at the end and basically sets the general tone that will only go downhill between the earthlings and the martians.
Now I just don't want it to pull another Valvrave. Two was enough, don't let Aldnoah.Zero be a 24 episode victim of Valvraveitis.
I'll be demoing a lot of anime later. Haven't caught up to most of it yet.
But yeah, exactly as you say. Don't know if you read my prompt last night. But the potential and latter uber bombing of Guilty Crown and Valvrave really hurt me. Like a lot.
Meh, and yeah :(
Is it a bit far fetched? The martians were looking for an opportunity to wage war just like A-H on Serbia for awhile now. It kind of feels like they used these more important figures like puppets to get a war started (both WWI and A.Z).
Would not explode again.
No, seriously, that scene was pretty good. Especially the music.
Oh yeah, that too. That bothered me a lot. I'm wondering how the Martians manage to get their floating castles to make a mushroom bomb explosion which can magically do things out of order.
But I just can't help being that one annoying nerd to point it out while everyone else is enjoying
Yeah it does have similarities but we still don't know the nature of the people who plotted the assassination in A.Z. It may be people from earth or it could just be some sort of big conspiracy by the martians just to start a War.
I agree that the result is the same as WWI, the assassination was the catalyst of that impending war.
On another note, that scene in New Orleans is roughly similar with the events of the Nagasaki and Hiroshima A-Bombing.
Let's see, we have 1e8 kg and 6e3 m/s... that equals to 3.6e15 J which is approximately 0.86 megatons of TNT equivalent.
Hey look they've got it in the correct order of magnitude!
