What? You mental, bro?
That's not every day in the week right? That would be positively insane. I thought that a friend of mine who works 70 hours weeks studying was pretty much hitting physical human limits.
Nope, not every week. I handle regional communications for a major cable company. But when you have a team of less than 25 people to support every call center and customer east of the Mississippi then it's pretty busy. On top of that the fact that we've had a few people change careers and a handful on vacation, so it's pretty obvious that we're short handed right now. So I'm working doubles on days I work and coming in on off days to make sure we have enough staff. I'm currently scheduled 75 hours this week, and I may still need to take more hours. I'm one of the few people willing to work OT to make sure we're not leaving only 2 people in the office. We need a minimum of 3 people to be able to function without catastrophic failure and ideally we'd have 5 to 7 during the busiest times. My group is active 24/7; it's pretty easy to see that 24 people (when we're running at max capacity for the week, no vacations or call-offs) is pretty much the bare minimum.
tl;dr My job is understaffed currently so I'm working doubles.
