JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Books 1 and 2 (Click to show)
Car, ACDC, and Wham mentioned that they annihilated the Mystics in their time. Did Mystic techniques evolve over time, or were Joseph and Caesar's own techniques just so bizarre (bubble blaster and JoJo's clever tricks)?

And why was Santana so primitive compared to the other Pillar Men?

What were the intentions of the creation of the stone masks? Dio seemed to master the abilities of being a vampire and it looked like Jonathan put much more effort into using the Ripple to combat him over Joseph versus the Pillar Men.

Also, that Yes song has a really addicting bass line. XD

I'm watching Kannagi right now. Sony strikes again. The Beta tape reminded me of Cowboy Bebop when they received a Betamax tape.

Ah, it's been awhile since I've seen Kannagi. Can't really remember it that well.

Anyway, we were at the fujiya avic show for the whole of today and yesterday....

Will save the report for another time, saw lots of big guys... but no currawong LOL

Lol, that's not even Little Busters, that's the spinoff game focused on Kud! Someone with some real fine tastes there! :D

LOL, you should have bought one off the wall!

Eeyup... I saw one of these that my senpai from the anime club went when he went to Japan earlier this year... :|

Nah, that's pretty long compared to some recent RPGs!
And Skyrim is only my second most played game (with 253 hours of playtime).
The numero uno (with almost 270 hours) remains Binding of Isaac: Wrath of the Lamb ♥

Skyrim and FF games are what I'm comparing it to lol, since those are pretty much all the RPGs I know about.

Anyway, I had a pretty random and interesting day today, I went to IKEA but didn't find TYG's awesome shelves. I also went to the Magnolia thing in Best Buy in Portland and tried out Muinarc's Martin Logan electrostats and some other ones too. I don't really feel like I can confidently analyze the SQ of them since the salesman was probably blasting the speakers at 100dB or something, and he was using schiity vinyl rips with lots of crackling and inner groove distortion at the loud points which gave me a headache. >.>

I also had legit barbecue for the first time in a few months ('Murican barbecue, Southern to be specific) which was delicious.

Shinobu best girl though.

Basically why I don't bother with giant walls of texts anymore (and we're slowing down a bit lately, and I don't spend the time looking through every page since my last post).

I've still yet to take another trip to IKEA. Unfortunately, the closest one is basically up in New York which is around a 2 hour drive. It's not like I really plan or can buy anything either.

Agreed.

Yep, *insert rant about how the thread isn't as good as it used to be here*.

Technically this one is 4 hours away from home, but I still went anyway. :D

It's this one with some additional elements:
http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/categories/departments/living_room/11703/
I painted the cupboard thingys blue myself.

Ahh okay, that makes sense! If I were going to stain it though, I'd probably use some of the black stain I have right now. Both because I like black stained furniture, and because I already have some of it so I don't have to go buy another color. :P

Now, which VN to play? Steins;Gate or Ever 17? I'm tempted to do E17 since it's only been a few months since I saw S;G last, but I do also sort of wanna play it concurrently with one of my friends who's new to VNs just for the heck of it. Also looks like I need to re-upload the game, as it breaks on Windows 8.1 by default, but someone hacked the exe to make it work anyway. XD

Definitely E17 if you have seen S;G recently.

It's pretty good, especially the true route's ending. What they did to tie everything together so closely totally caught me by surprise, which made it even better.

Ehhh.... It's getting up there. I'd say it's long, but not really long.

Ok, sweet. That's what I really liked about Rewrite's plot.

Keep in mind I was playing it through pretty quickly. If you listen to all the voices it'd probably take at least another 10.

Lmaoooooooooooooooooo, Adam is getting everyone hooked on Jojo isn't he?
No yeah this anime lives up to how much he hypes it. I just blew through Book 2. XD

It's like Bleach in some ways, but way better and without 748273549 filler episodes.

Lol. So, in your humble opinion, could Jojo be considered a shounen anime?

Ehh, I don't usually have home-cooked bbq either except from time to time when I cook it myself on a barbecue. :P

It's really comforting though. It was also fun just hanging out with my cousin when he was on a few substances, and just talking about random stuff.

Oh and did I mention I bought an authentic Russian military hat today? XD

Yup, exactly. Oh, and he was also telling me how he got these 110W receivers to put out almost 200W, and of course they were the most expensive ones!

Uh, I think it was Jgray? But do listen to Abandoned Dancehall since we both agreed it sounds better.

Just go search for it on nyaa.

Sounds pretty sweet on my H3s!

Beautiful cover of a beautiful song.

dayum, I want a russian military hat

Something like this

Mine doesn't look quite like that, but they had ones that were even cooler looking than that for $35. My cousin bought one because the one he'd had for a couple years was finally wearing out.

Oh wow... you finished ALL the routes in Rewrite?? did you like them all? or are you just a completionist?

56 Hours? Either the game is not that long or you read super fast.... |:

Everything I play is 50 - 100 hours....

Well, in order to get the final bonus route, you have to basically 100% the game. I guess I'm a bit of a completionist, though there's one quest I didn't finish that I can't be bothered to go back and do again now.

Yep, I probably read faster than you, plus I skip the dialogue. I can imagine it takes you a lot longer to play VNs since you don't really fully 100% understand japanese and yet you're playing the games in Japanese...

Good game, definitely enjoyed it. Combat may have felt slightly repetitive near the end, but the plot and the level of influence of your own actions definitely made up for that.

Probably gonna play Mass Effect 3 next weekend, if time permits.

Holy schiit you're fast mang! I still need to play ME3 even though I've had it for about a year.

It'd probably be best to ask Adam or someone from the anime club who's super into Jojo.

Jojo. A japanese cartoon introducing you to classic rock songs since 2012. ©

Screw this AP Biology exam. I'm probably not going to go in a bio field, the amount of stuff they cram onto this test is ridiculous (not as bad as Chem though), and I'm only a sophomore. I'm going to run with my 8 UCONN ECE credits and call it a day. Screw studying.

Bowei, did you take the Bio AP exam?

I'd say it's more seinen (though young adults) rather than shounen just because of the darker themes, similar to Bleach, and the unique art style. On the other hand, I don't know much about shounen (10-17 year old males), but I do think JoJo has elements of that genre.

Yup, I agree.

Lol, learned how to play beer pong today (didn't do any of the drinking associated with it though) and had some good old home-made 'MURICAN barbecue, none of that schiity southern stuff like Bowei has down south.

Well, if you ever wanna get Adam fired up, just tell him Jojo is a shounen anime. :P

Despite every site that details anime genres (myanimelist, animedb, etc) and all the manga sites I checked too calling it shounen, he will defend it to the death that Jojo is in fact NOT shounen.
