Make him watch Redline.  If you have a good sound setup the movie is even better.  If not that... Black Lagoon is pretty hard to hate.

Some anime aimed at adult audiences that I think are great are Grave of the Fireflies and Only Yesterday, both by the great Isao Takahata.

Seinen anime ftw!
(seinen is also a German word for "his")

I already got him to watch Fireflies.... and about 6 Ghibli movies...and the response has been positive though he didn't like Howl's but my mom did wink.gif . It sounds simple enough, but my dad, though open minded....is still incredibly conservative by our millennial-generation's standards..... Black Lagoon, for instance, would probably even be too fan-service-y for his tastes.

The perfect anime would be something along the lines of Ergo Proxy.....only one that actually makes sense. I think I could get both he and my mom to watch Mushishi too.

I would totaly watch this KyoAni-ish version of JoJo :D
Paint Tool -SAI- JPEG Encoder v1.00

Pixiv loves Mekaku btw.

LOL, I'm pretty sure he would hate that. Not positive though. XP

Ergo Proxy is pretty awesome.  I'm about half-way through with it now.  Hopefully I can finish it when I fix my hard drive issue.  Oh, another great movie to consider would be Summer Wars.  That was a fun one, and should look excellent on a large screen.

Well, funny thing is 10bit means next to nothing since nothing short of a workstation graphics card (Firepro or quadro) and $1,200+ computer monitor actualy displays 10bit information... everything else is a 6-8bit panel.

IMO what REALLY matters with downloaded HD content is how compressed it is. I used a tool called "mediainfo" that adds right-click menu for media files that tells you their statistics.... I have a 35GB version of NGE 3.33, that's something like 18mbps video stream. My 9GB version of NGE 2.22 is about 8mbps..... the stuff you D/L for airing anime that have file sizes around 500MB for 1080... those are like 1.5mbps. I think the sweet spot is around 5mbps video stream as there are def. diminishing returns as you go higher.

...Okay, that's a bad recommendation.

I retract my statement with another anime, Jormungand. THAT, is action packed.

It's the best idea ever, especially if you have a nice HiFi setup!

******* hype.

Oooohhhh I'm not sure what to think about this.....

I hope it's better than the first version of the anime.
A superb game like P4 deserves a great anime adaptation and not this poorly paced...thing.

What about Cowboy Bebop? I think it's pretty close behind. It also doesn't have as much high-impact violence, which makes it easier to swallow.

And don't forget the Black Lagoon Omake episodes!

That's why in the case of P4A, I preferred the English Dub over the Japanese. The Queen of Tsundere as an Idol? No way...

But then again... (Click to show)

My hard drive has also been acting up lately. It would stop copying a series at EP8 and the transfer speeds drop all the way down to 355 KB/s. I'm looking at you, Seagate.

Ouch, I've avoided Seagate, but it looks like siding with Western Digital has done me no favors in life.  Might look to Hitachi, granted that is now owned by WD.  Oh well... with a 5 year warranty I can't complain too much, but my external is now filled to capacity, and I'm gonna need to figure this out fast.  I knew I should have gone for a RAID setup.

Their intern is either getting a raise to a full time position...or is getting fired.

Tsk tsk, Seagate

Hitachi FTW!
