I wasn't supposed to build a good Mini-ITX computer.....but I did...and for cheaps still :D
Just got an i5 4330 Haswell CPU for $99.99
I'm pretty hyped for that too! Wonder if I could sell my Nexus 4 for a decent enough amount to get that for really cheap...
I don't get it, why can't you just take your computer back home over the summer? They're letting you leave your stuff at uni?
My friends and I are renting a storage locker
I live 650 miles away from home. I have a schit ton of stuff. The only way I can move all my stuff back home is if my parents come to get me.
The drive one way here is about 12 hours. This is due to pit stops, traffic during the metropolitan area, and just general conditions.
My PC is a slightly bigger mid Tower that weighs 60+ lbs and is kinda fragile.
I'm going back home by train this summer... I can't carry or bring the main computer back at all.
So I'm investing less than $200 to build a barebones mini-ITX setup so I can drop half of the parts of my main computer into it.
It just so happened to be that I'm awesome at sales and was able to get everything at the lowest price possible......
One of the best mini-ITX cases with long GPU support for $29.99. A good i5 Haswell CPU for $99.99, and somehow was able to score the cheapest price availble anywhere($59) of an Mini-ITX motherboard of the kinda I need with respectable feedback etc. All for sub $200.
I'm gonna drop into this computer, the $108 AMD 7870 GHz that I bought, the RAM, and the PSU of my main system. And most likely the HDD I have a spare of.
Why does that name sound familiar... oh. That is a very nice movie :D
Maybe I should go to the movies... haven't seen any since HP 7 part II. Transcendence caught my attention even though everyone seems to be schiiting bricks about it, thus many people end up butt-hurt. Then again, I had an interest in Benjamin Button... and slept.
780TI I kinda want to say overkill but mheh. If the 8xx weren't delayed I'd say wait.
