On Knights of Sidonia

Awesome looking CG and series...but seriously, they GOTTA work on the framerate issues they have. I know the amount of time it takes to prorudce these episodes are limited....but the frame rate..is so fricking un-smooth.

This show would be 10x better if they used a CG backdrop but a handdrawn character list

the CG for human characters look TERRIBAD. in how they did it. Arpeggio of Blue Steel did it well. But this, this is just horrid. I believe Arpgeggio at times even used hand drawing that looks like CG.

that's just my take on it. Everything...is just something, that's it. Opinions are fine, but at days end, its just 'something' as well. That's why I look at stuff as if it was a history book.

The narrator dude is annoying.

I don't not like religions. If I was building a world. I would rather there by religion in it than not. For reasons I won't go into here as it may spark a schiit storm.

You again with your wishy washy answers (●´⌓`●)

The "narrator dude" is mister Richard Feynman himself!
As history shows us, religion is a great way to keep the mob stupid and under control. That's what you wanted to say, right?

The backgrounds etc are cool though.

Wishy Washy? Maybe. Depends on how you look at it. I like to look at history as a pessimistic objectivist. However I do formulate opinions often. I however realize that my opinions are often flawed and are a result of human constructs, society, and my past teachings, which is why I try not to say them a lot and keep it neutral.

Meh, no idea who the dude is.

Not gonna agree or deny.

Yeah, the CG SUCKS for the characters. Great for everything else. And yeah, the very overly yellowy-white faces with prolonged facial strucutres are fishy

Background is uber cool :D

Oh no! You almost acted like a normal human being by stating your own opinion. God forbid!
That is exactly what I want! I want to hear your oh so flawed and meaningless opinion and not just some overly diplomatic drivel. Your history book impersonation is even more pointless IMO. It just makes people think you have no opinion at all, which would strike me as a pretty bad character trait.

;)

Only time (and reviews) will tell if this anime is worth the eye cancer it is inducing...

Perfect summary of one of the main reason why I don't like religions and refuse in any kind of deity.

Great vid indeed, though I don't agree....

I'm no scientist. I believe the world is what we make it.

I only want to know enough to shape the world the way I want it.

I'm an Engineer.

Not really, I don't see any Dayyums in there. I do now see that there are at least 3 levels of the regular Dayum, so now I'm thinking Dayyum is like.... beyond quantifiable? This is literally blowing my mind Panda o_O

Opinions without any solid basis or backing is something I tend to formulate internally but dare not to speak of. Mainly because I know they are flawed in some ways.

I do it BECAUSE nobody else does. Because people that do the usual thing ARE in fact, some of the things with modern society that is less than optimal but shows our innate human kind.

Hard? Yeah, but someone I hold highly vs someone you guys hold highly

Is it the same as my point #1 from this post? http://www.head-fi.org/t/586040/official-asian-anime-manga-and-music-lounge/110535#post_10457874

Do they at least look random? Would be sad if the marks destroy thier purpose by being too homogeneous.

I'm starting to like the series a lot while watching ep 2

The random details like the gender, the battle mechanics, the form of the gauna, the society they live in, and a lot of other things are so intricate that I can't really let the schitty random battle marks take away from it. Yes, you did mention the battle scuffs....thsoe are still really schitty.

the purpose is completely destroyed.. it's highly over used.

The entire history and premise of this is very interesting. Similar in ways to SSY. In where the society we see, are met with, and learn about. Although they appear like' US' and feature many common things that we share. Have a distinct ethical structure, background, science, and social norms/values that we ourselves may find weird. I find the Japanese to not like to deal with this type of stuff. Or shall I say, the media in Japan not liking stuff that butts heads with social norms. So it is fascinating that even a tiny bit of it could be seen here in this show.

D'awww they already over-did it by ep 2...... bummer. I like a lot of anime that are social commentaries on Japanese society though, I'll be happy if they reach the level of detail you allude to.
