... I'm not too sure, since I'm not that skilled with android. I tested it just straight out of the box... and I got less than 10 hours.

But I just got some advice from some more pro android people.. so hopefully that'll increase it. I've heard it should be around the same life as an iTouch, but who knows.

I came into it skeptical of the sound... wasn't impressed by the AK120, so I didn't have hopes for another audiophile player. Thought it might be a buy and sell type thing.
I'm probably keeping it. At least for a while. The sound is very clean. And I'll leave it at that. Don't have the vocabulary to describe it, but definitely the best I've heard so far. Probably not worth $700, but for the whole package, a functional UI with decent sound, I'll take it. Noticiably better than straight out of a Mac, Project H (well, it's not built for IEMs), and my iPhone.

So I think it should be capable of at least like 20+ hrs playback, especially if you don't use the screen much.

Can you help me with some settings? It's my first android device so I don't know what tips and tricks I should use to minimize battery usage. Since right out of the box it's pretty terrible.

Everything is wrapping up:

D-Frag: 8/10 ... Rated purely for comedic value, had my kind of goofy characters, ended much more funny to me than it started.

Hamatora: 4/10 .... I really had to work to finish this one. How do you have this uber sad cliffhanger ending to one episode, then the very next episode is like a slapstick comedy that makes to reference to the prior episode? Hamatora was full of that kind of stuff.

Tokyo Ravens: 6/10 .... There was enough to like to make this better than a 5, but it missed out on so many possibilities to have a better score. Suffered from too many 1-dimensional characters.

Its my first android device too orz

Basically I just go to options and turn off everything, and perhaps google services. And also there is a page to check power consume of each processes.

Btw the DSEE thingy in audio settings decreases battery life quite significantly.

Content embed is strong in this post. XD

Not listen to it for 10 straight hours, but more like listen to it when you can and not worry about charging it for X days.

I gave up on the stock app. I'm using Poweramp, even the animation is more fluid in it than stock Sony (sorry if this comes off as a bit ranty). So probably not going to use the DSEE thing either. Did a blind test with and without it as well, I guessed the wrong one XD.

What. :eek::eek::eek:

I see. But if you do that, don't the processor and other components eat away at the battery (well, I'm assuming that DAP's tend to not have such a strong processor and that they pretty much use the battery via built-in amp/op-amp mostly while being listened to). And since it's a new battery, I guess the problem would be further mollified. Meh, I guess it'd only be a very tiny %age in the case of DAP's.

Well you would turn it off when you're done using it. i.e. I listen to the Clip Zip on the bus, turn it off in-class, use it while walking around campus, turn it off at home, and use it again on the bus the next day. Such is the life of a portable media player. smily_headphones1.gif

I'd love to see your thoughts on what specifically you like about Hamatora when you finish it. I always enjoy gaining new perspectives, maybe I missed the point of the whole show or something :p

The Clip Zip doesn't have a standby? But yeah, standby if it has it. tongue.gif

D'awe... wait is that 7 or 8.

The manga is pretty good.  It'll be interesting whether the anime can approximate the artwork of the manga, which manage to portray the sport in such a fluid and kinetic way rarely seen in any sport manga.

I use poweramp for most of my library. Except my Video Games Live Level 3 album, for some reason, there's hissing unless I turn off everything, gain, Eq, Limit etc etc. Might have to convert into FLAC
