I repaired my iPod!

This week the parts finally arrived and I today I took the time to actually repair it. Opening the iPod was a nerve breaking and took quite long, after I opened it, the rest was very easy. Funny thing is, I had those plastic opening tools, but they broke almost immediately beyond use. So then I just started prying it open with a small screw driver, and it worked surprisingly well. No visible damage to the back cover at all.

Now I finally don't have to carry my mini3 amplifier with me every time I want to listen to music.

But I would love to be proven wrong!

I also thought about getting a turntable. But getting a belt-driven one with a built-in phono amp and cool USB features is just not possible for me right now. Too damn expensive. Would cost me around €300.
My thoughts exactly. I'm not going to waste $30 on already crap mastered stuff. XD

Nice, that reminds me of the day I repaied mine as well

Only sad part is that just as I repaied the main screen. My home button broke.....now it is unusable

That's the whole bloody point of vinyl dude!

Check out my collection:

That is the culmination of going to my local record stores for the past ~3 years, my mom giving me her records, and me occasionally ordering some box sets from eBay

Whoa, I'm not sure if it's just these original masterings or the superiority of vinyl, but instrument separation is uncanny on my really pathetic rig.

Also, I'm listening to some songs right now and hearing stuff I've never heard before. I know it sounds cliche, but it's true. :O

Also, I just bought this. Yoink...

NO WAYYY, maaan @_@ I'm so jelly.

The only sad part is that this branch off means there might not be a season 2, because I don't believe this has happened in the manga.

Noragami Manga Spoiler (Click to show)
Apparently Yukine becomes two swords in the manga? They haven't even fought and killed Rabo yet in the manga, so this is probably early termination.

After all, there's only one episode yet and no announcements for a second season yet, unlike Bones who announced that they would animate the second season of Space Dandy.

Quite suddenly (at least to me), Uchuu Kyoudai ended at episode 99. For two years I have been looking forward to those short 24 minutes of watching Space Bros, but now it's finally over. The ending wasn't unsatisfying, even though was indeed quite sudden.

Maybe they finally caught up to the manga or something and decided to take a break, or maybe the viewership ratings started to slowly dropped and they decided to not make more episodes due to financial reasons.
Whatever it was, it has ended now. My favorite anime has come to an end. Quite a sad thing, if you ask me.

They are making a movie. With a time skip they probably could wrap the whole thing up in a movie too.

F*** you, I don't even have a turntable and I'm not even a huge fan of K-On! or anything but I had to buy it as I like K-On music and at that price it's a total steal.

My poor poor bank account this month though, I had to take like $50 out of savings.

LOL, I don't even like the show that much either, but the first OP and ED are pretty catchy.

Hmm, I just realized these are 45s and the speed control dial for the 45rpm setting on my turntable is a bit jumpy. Guess I'll have to take it apart sometime this week and Deoxit it. :|

A lot of items actually offer international shipping, the K-On Box Set I just logged in and stuck in my info and it charged me $10 shipping since I have Prime.

Ohh, so that's why shipping was so cheap?? I didn't think US prime carried over to any of the other Amazon stores since I had to make another account on amazon jp and whatnot...

Yup, and their international shipping is really cheap compared to other websites!

Too bad they don't ship anything by Key Sounds Label overseas though T_T

Anyone think this would be a good starting point for a vinyl player? Or are there any other options?

Edit: or this since it's like half the retail price:

Turntable*

Eew no, I wouldn't bother with either of those...

My recommendation would be to scour your local forums (since international shipping will be a killer for turntables) and look for a vintage Technics turntable. I got this one from my cousin for free; it was made in 1980 and I highly doubt it's ever been serviced. It still runs like a dream, even though a few things on it are broken and it hasn't been serviced in some 35 years. I'm guessing a DJ used and abused this one for at least part of its life since it had a DJ level cartridge on it.

Otherwise, probably something like this: http://www.amazon.com/Technica-AT-LP60-Automatic-Driven-Turntable/dp/B002GYTPAE/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1395603570&sr=8-1&keywords=turntable

Lol, I like how it's the #1 seller in DJ turntables, yet if any DJs actually used it for scratching, they'd screw it up immediately because it's belt driven.

Doesn't matter; it's collectible! XD

Protip: Never bother with USB turntables and ones with built in preamps. Most of them are schiit.

Lol, same here. When I took apart my iPod the tools broke immediately. Welcome back to the ampless iPod club bro!

Maybe you should look into alternate cables for you Senns as well so they don't kill the jack again?

Okaaay, I'd probably make an exception for that turntable...

Phono amps aren't all that expensive, I'm using one right now that only cost me $20. Borisu helped me make a superior one for about $50 worth of materials. The really expensive part is the USB ADC to actually get files onto your computer. :C
