Based on the reviews, it sound like something I would really enjoy!
But you know that MAL reviews can be a bit....misleading from time to time.

It is in my drop list, I think at ep 20 of 24 lol. I actually want to complete it. It is really out there, and I found it hard to follow because they never tell you whats going on.

That being said, the art is pretty great and the music is nice, especially the Rock over Japan part.

You shut your mouth!
I watched the anime and liked it a lot!

Whoa there is a Rockboy version for the DX50?
Totally missed that!
No idea why I would need Rockbox but I might install it just for the lulz.

Yeah, that's right! The people out there are too damn stupid to operate a volume knob!
Let's just end their misery and make everything super loud and super not dynamic!
Drums sounding like cardboard boxes and coffee mugs? They can't possibly care about such minor details!

Good thing the record labels know what's best for us.......

Send them an angry rant. Maybe they would actually read it (even if they wouldn't care about it, it's still more than ranting on a forum). :-P

Wouldn't really matter in this case anyway. The album is from 08.
And it kind of looks like the Loudness War is dying down slowly.
A lot of great new albums clock in on DR8 and above.
I'm just a bit pissed about the fact that so many awesome albums from back then sound like garbage.

Here, a metal album that is more dynamic than tons of Jazz and Classic recordings!
That's the kind of stuff that makes me look forward.

Well just like my friend TYG I finished Lucky☆Star this weekend. Since this show is well known and recently discussed, I will keep my impressions short.

I had always passed on this show due to my distaste of the "derpy eyed" phase of Kyoani, but I found that I had done myself quite a disservice. Given the type of show this is, and it's particular sense of humor, the art is perfect, much like Nichijou. The characters were all well developed and they were all individuals that had their own quirks and unique personalities. Lucky Channel was my favorite part, I was sad the karaoke thing disappeard for the wacky live-action singing during the ED... but it was all quite fun.

You can even learn some things about japanese (particularly otaku) culture from this show as well. I watched the episode where Konata took her friends to Comiket, and there explained how the event is laid out. Literally two days later I watched the Fate;Kaleid OVA, and in it, a (nerdy) character says something like "this is nothing compared to the east hall in the summer". This of course had me "in" on the joke, which is awesome.

This almost would be an 8, but I didn't laugh often enough for that score, and that is the sole mission of Lucky Star, to make you laugh. As MechG pointed out, make sure you watch the OVA, it had some of the best moments of the entire series.

7/10

It's really not as funny as something like Nichijou, but I think that Lucky Star focuses more on the SoL part.

I think it's a bit weird how the anime industry relies the glory of "old" animes like Madoka, EVA, Cowboy Bebop etc.
You get to see new Evangelion goodies almost each month even though it's so old. Sure, there are still a lot of people that are watching it, but there are also a lot of people out there who love watching e.g. Stargate.
I mean, you don't get to see new Stargate themed merch these days and I can't really imagine AMC still producing Breaking Bad merchandise in ten years.
Is anime a more timeless form of media or what? I can't quiet wrap my head around that.

Things like this:

Why?
