I enjoy Strike the Blood more than Ravens, probably for the moe/fan service. Neither has what I would call a strong romantic story, if that's what you like. I don't think either is better than Index.

Watch them if you are interested after one or two episodes, they will both probably end up as 6 or 7/10 in my MAL.

@Panda, can't believe that review has the word "amazeballs" in it. I'm not sure how I feel about that lol.

Same thoughts.... YAOI 3rd movie:confused_face:

may find the drawing quality of the tv series unbearable too... it's just too old....

I WANT MORE SHINJI x KAWORU ACTION! :o

I'm even doing a fan art with those two characters right now.

I only have seen the theatrical version and since I really don't want to wait till winter 2015 for the final movie, I might as well watch the TV version with the two movies. Without giving any spoilers, I want to know if the TV version gives a more in depth story of Evangelion than the theatrical version or are they different from each other that I won't get too spoiled when the 4th movie comes out?

There is a lot less Shinji x Kaworu action.

The TV version has a lot more drama and well, looks pretty old.
I would suggest you to watch it though. Especially the End of Evangelion movie ♥

Pretty much, lol. It seems a properly done fansub is both prettier and has better translations than Crunchyroll or a licensing company can ever muster... :/

I think NGE looks great for it's age. I have a friend that can't watch older anime either, so you're not alone. It's just a shame that that presents a road block for some and prevents them from watching some fantastic stuff!

Ok yet another series was completed this past weekend (I told you that I went on a hell of a binge). This time I will give you my short impression/review of Chäos;Head.

Since I finished Steins;Gate a couple of weeks ago and I had seen Robotics;Notes, I figured that I might as well finish the semicolon series off with Chaos;Head. Well I didn't save the best for last. While I liked that the main character was a NEET in training and otaku, there wasn't really anything else of note in the series.

You can tell while watching it that it was sourced from a VN, but the way they handled it was pretty sad. There really was no decent romance, they hinted at one very early on but nothing progressed from there. Instead the focus was on all of the twists and turns you expect from these ; shows, but in this case, the twists and turns were boring. Even the out of left field ones left you thinking "ok, whatever, that's cool that person X that I don't care about has issues, but is it over yet?". They make a big deal over certain details but when the "big reveal" happens, they turn out to be pretty minor. Thus, instead of building you up for the grand finale, you are left apathetic most, if not all of the time.

Can you tell I was underwhelmed?

Why would you even watch something that is ranked #3344 on MAL?

If something is ranked so poorly than it must be objectively bad.

1) It was there.

2) I watched the other 2 " ; " shows and I am a completionist.

3) Watching bad stuff makes for more well-rounded opinions, and it helps me appreciate the merely good or above average shows that much more!

4) I might be a masochist, the jury is still out on that one however.

Fair enough, I guess.
I just don't have the time or patience to watch shows that are most likely not worth my time.

Most AWESOMESAUCE anime and manga aren't in the top 10. A lot are, but many are like at 100

Well hey, you can't expect too much from a 30 hour VN compressed into a 5 hour anime.

For the record, C;H remains one of my favorite VNs of all time.

(looking at that pic.... I don't remember the anime artwork being this bad.... oh wells...)

In the mean time, wait for the 4th ";" series... ChäoS;Child

Oh that goes without saying. A lot of the higher up ones are simply overhyped.
