It's one of those novelty things.

I would use the fund for the nekomimi research and development project instead. We need test subjects for DNA manipulations.

But that is a bargain deal.

That is what I was getting at.
I have no idea how you got all that for only $120.

Considering the $120 cost includes the replacement caddy for the Macbook Pro, a new Samsung EVO SSD and Corsair DDR3 8GB Ram (laptop ram is expensive).

The Corsair RAM is 'Mac certified' too..NOT THAT IT MATTERS, it was cheaper, well received, and popular and so I got it.

You shouldn't use RAM that has different CAS or frequency from your computer. Mac's have poor performance if the RAM you get is 'better'.

There were 'slightly' cheaper PC RAM at 1333MHz, but my Mac was 1067MHz. Fromw hat I read, Mac's don't 'downclock' as 'well' and have support issues if you use RAM like that.

I second this for the people that believe this is a bargain. HOW THE HECK DID YOU DO THIS?

I haven't found an SSD that cost that much, 8GB ram that cost that much, and a caddy for the price of $120....

I've seen SSDS going for $120 exactly...

Caddys are $20

8GB of ram goes up to $90..... at times

Because omg it was a $300 headphone, but because it was a crap $300 headphone, it's on clearance now for $80. So clearly it must be good now, right guys?

ikea is the shiza, ikea hackers FTW.

my next command station is going to be epic, as soon as i pay all my med school loans..... now im depressed

clearly its amazing now..... but To be fair, they are hyping the TE-05...and im excited about them too

Oh yeah, I haven't even done any IKEA hacks, but they do seem pretty dang sweet.

Lol

Yes, but Fostex is a pretty big headphone company, and I don't think anyone would doubt that they would get super hyped.

Neither had I until Lugia brought them out at a mini-meet on Sunday.

If the Pistons had better isolation, I honestly think I'd use them on the go and ditch the GR07 though...

Obviously in need better STAX amps and search for some Audio Technica. ;)

Maybe the STAX amps; I don't think the midrange of my 202s is really it's selling point though.

Bloody hell, I have the AD1000PRM in front of me right now. Treble is still funky and the "full midrange" makes everything sound unclear and off timbre-wise.

Do you have them yet? Did you pick a store with a good return policy? :o

[I'll quit bashing them now until I get a chance to hear them...]

I'm curious, what product do you guys think has survived the FOTM bandwagon? What I mean by that is remaining popular even after FOTM time or is genuinely a good product.

I'd put the TG334 out there. I think it has been consistantly popular, although the limited supply of it might have contributed to that. But at least it wasn't a failure (popularity wise) like it's younger brothers and sisters (ahem F111, Parterre)... Parterre has been doing especially bad in the Japan market

Maybe I have the wrong definition of FOTM, but when I think of FOTM, I think of a cheap-ish (not TOTL grade like the TG334) that generates a lot of hype because it has excellent sound quality for the price.

I can't wait to drive when the numbers are flashing red then....

Good luck!

1plus2 is sticking around for the uber high dollar stuff. Gr07 too. TF10 is still around.

Eew 1+2. How the hell do they get on charging $1000+ for that when it uses the ****ing TWFK for mids/treble? Same with the K3k3 actually. Why when stuff like the DN-1000 exists for a fraction of the price and does decent enough?

(In case you can't tell, I really dislike the TWFK driver and wish it would just quit being used in IEMs and die already.)

http://slickdeals.net/f/6731684-samsung-840-evo-120gb-85-or-55-after-coupon

I got that for $57 or $61 after tax with an initial 10% discount FOLLOWED by another discount.

The RAM deal I was able to get as I had some Amazon promotional credit. $79 RAM went to $50 RAM. And I was able to find a caddy for $8.

Samsung Evo 128GB SSD + 8GB Corsair RAM DDR3 + Apple HDD caddy Total =$120

I spent an hour looking at deals and prices.

the SSD itself is $91 right now, the 'more' Apple specific ram is $90 and the HDD caddy isn't really sold by Apple.

lol... "Apple RAM" just seems like some scam for apple fanboys... I don't get it, like what's the difference?
I'm using a stick of ADATA DDR3 8GB @ 1600 in my Macbook right now and it's working just fine LOL

But yeah, still a good deal if you got all of that for $120, my RAM stick itself was already $50
