@thegunner100 and anyone else interested... I just got an email from Jlist today and STEINS GATE HAS GONE GOLDEN! That means the March 31st release date or whatever is pretty much set now!!! Yay!

Now to finish Rewrite before then.

Excellent, thanks for the update! Just 1.5 monthes away then. Since the last I've been here, I've finished fate/stay night realta nua and now I'm working on Cross Channel. I've been spending most of my free time playing a touhou rpg called Gensou Maroku, Devil of Decline but I'll be sure to finish cross channel before steins;gate is released :D

How is rewrite going for you? Where are you up to? :o

How's school for everyone? My school has already had 3 snow days. I only have classes on Tue, Wed, and Fri so unfortunately I only got 2 of those snow days off xD

So I said something about an interview today, and... Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
managed to postpone it to Friday so that I can be better prepared.

And with that I have a favor to ask:
Quote:
Fresh grad here, and I need some help.

This is basically the job description:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/d9zpqf8glkos6ix/help%201.png

And this is what they elaborated on what would be asked in my interview:
Quote:
This 1st round interview will be focus on your past job experience / technical knowledge. Depending on the availability of our Senior Managers, the interviewer panel could be of 1 or 2 persons together with a representative from the HR.

There shall be some technical written tests (on circuit design or programming) on an adhoc basis. Nevertheless, most of the evaluation of your technical skill shall be via verbal.

I'll admit that I am out of my league here; back in my engineering course, there are some things relate, but mostly it's more focused for aviation stuff. And I sent out for this application without much hope. And being taught in Russian, with that being my third worst language, I didn't really paid attention much... So wondering what can be asked in this scenario?

I think that I should start with power amp designs? And which basics? Honestly I can't really recall at all unless someone jogs my memory.

And my interview is on Friday, so I got to be as prepared as I can by Thursday. Sorry for this tall order...

You know that jgray is writing something serious/important if there is not a single **** or **** in his post.

I can't really help you with this engineering mumbo jumbo orz

You are a freshly graduated so they must have invited you because of your grades.

You could do this six weeks course in two days :(

Happened to me a few months ago.

Go to Extensions and turn on Developer Mode. Then click on the "Update Extensions" button that appears. Also, go and update all of the lists just in case it didn't auto update.

You might have to turn off "Allow some non-intrusive ads" again.

Here you go:

I want to be strong,
because our world is very cruel
It is advisable to remove withered flowers

You ask me if I'll go with you
You whisper in my ear
You ask me if I take your hand
I have no reason to reject you

You ask me if I'll go with you
You whisper in my ear
You ask me if I take your hand

(You whisper to me)

Yes, I am much stronger than I ever thought
Fly higher!
Run much faster!
Do not forget the truth!
Yes, I am much stronger than I ever thought
I remove withered flowers
Why do you look so sad?

This world is cruel
It is sad but true
This world is strange
It is questionable but true
Is the flower garden real or fake?

What do you want from me?
No matter if I want or not, I have to pursue the enemy
I am not free from this world

No matter how hard you are
Fly higher
Run much faster!
You are very strong
You twine a floral wreath
Why do you look so sad?

As someone in your situation. In where the language isn't my best bet, and where I'm not completely qualified or really know all that stuff.

You gotta play every CARD in the game

  1. Study up on the company. EVERY detail of it, what it does, historical dealings etc. (30 mins)
  2. Find out if you can who the interviewees are (LinkedIn,Facebook). Stalk them and get to kinda know them. Their facebook page mentions they like the Yankees team? Buy a Yankees team wallet and casually pull it out to give them your business card at one point. *conversation starter, ice breaker
  3. BE FRIENDLY AND CONFIDENT AS ****. This means you can't yell Trigger Saving Anime 20 times a second. Walk in there with a confident walk and stride(make it natural, practice a bit), a large smile, eye contact, good body position and posture, and give them a professional handshake. Address everyone in the room.
  4. Their company specializes in X Y Z. Learn about X Y Z. When it comes time to, or when you want to bring up qualifications, bring it up in a conversational manner if you can.
Example: Amplifiers? Oh yeah, I'm a long-time audiophile now, and amps are a passion of mine. The class A amps that you guys build are very nice because ____, but I think that improvements may be made in (insert area you are good in, such as build, aesthetics, marketing).
  5. Don't stutter much, and practice speaking without 'uhms'. (PRACTICE and record the F*** outta yourself. Most don't realize they stutter, shift, move their hands and feet, and reduce eye contact when they start talking)
Example: Get your friends to interview you. Film yourself. You can NOT BELIEVE, how much schiit you do unconcniously when you put 100% think process into answering questions. Sit your ass down and practice. Want this job? Practice until you can answer standard questions with good sitting posture, no moving around, good body language, firm confident outlook, and demeanor.
  6. Be nice, be kind, be courteous, be a gentleman. Do this the moment you walk into the door. Hold the door for the person behind you, smile and say hi to receptionist lady, shoot the schiit with other people. Be Mr. Confident.
  7. Of course, you do still need to be able to answer questions, how you are good for the job, have that resume/CV and be professional. But do remember, these guys are hiring long term. They want someone likeable. You can train him to do something. You can't train him to be likeable.

There are much more you can do, but since you aren't too good in the fields asking. Being a GREAT ******* person called Mr. Confident, while making conversation on their designs, improvements(DON'T DISS THEIR SCHIIT, improve humbley, they know why X Y Z happened in their schiit and why you can't do schiit. Don't go in trying to change their schiit. Offer improvements based off your own skills and what you can bring to the table, don't tell them their schiit is schiit.)

Get out there, get some friends, RECORD YOURSELF, and be Mr. Confident the next time I see you. Get a haircut, trim your nails, dress but don't overdress(have you met company represenatives before? Dress like they are), clean yourself. And above all, be the best you, you can be.

You don't need to believe in yourself Jgray. Believe in the me(panda) that believes you when you believe in yourself
