The polyrhythms in this song are like the most difficult things ever.

Watching the Superbowl right now.
Don't ask why.

I don't really care for professional sports. I don't support people getting paid millions to throw balls at each other and run into other people hard enough to give concussions. It must be really rewarding being able to throw a ball to get paid such a high salary.

Oh, and the tax breaks the NFL gets are fuggin ridiculous.

Meanwhile I'll continue working my butt off to get into graduate school to pursue academia and be at the forefront of life-changing scientific research. My salary won't even be half of what these people make.

But 36-0 Seahawks; it was funny to hear the commentator say the Broncos have terrible defense. XD

And not a fan of screaming....but dang that's a good double-bass pedaler though.

Back to something calming.

My apologies for asking that, heh. I'll read through most of the thread so I will be updated with good anime that's already been discussed.

I adore it, best executed comedy without being overly dramatic with the romance like some shows.

It makes me want to read the light novel...

Ahaha...........don't bother reading through the thread....we have too many posts.

But yeah, the comedy and execution of it was pretty awesome

Woohoo, nothing to quote! I had quite an interesting day; the super bowl party I went to was... Interesting... Lots of drunk people that quickly turned into drama... Meh.
Now time to drive back to Portland in the snow.

And GO SEAHAWKS! biggrin.gif

Wrt high res screen, something that totes know from the beginning (and not read from ars technica toshiba 4k laptop comment section) is that there would be less need for antialiasing. As far as I understand that, that's always a good thing. Sure I don't really care for super ultra res on smartphones because it sucks the battery dry so fast, but I can see the validity for it on bigger screen. But yeah Microsoft needs to catch up on windows so that it doesn't look like ants and not use scaling on high res relatively small screen.

Just look at it like headphones: sure that ibuds is fine enough, but is always better (up to a point).

Oh yeah I remember the argument: it was on Sony's magical new 4k projector thing.

Does AA or higher res add more load?

I know there's different AA algorithms but I don't remember which one caused more performance hits (of course, it depends on your GPU since AMD cards fare well with higher resolutions in most cases compared to NVIDIA as far as I've seen).

Anyways, 4K on monitors and TVs makes sense but phones? Wut?

For all of you people who use in-ear monitors that aren't really monitors.

The Dell Venue 8 Pro is pretty cheap (at least over here in the States, I can pick one up for you if it would be cheaper from the M$ store, hehe)

Also look at Lenovo's new 8" tablet too which has a 1200p screen IIRC. And don't forget to look at the ASUS Transformer Book T100 as well. :3

Windows 8 is weird. It's a terrible laptop operating system, and a terrible tablet operating system.

As I've mentioned before, I have a Sony Vaio Duo 11, which is a slider ultra-portable 11.6" Windows 8 machine. It's too heavy and operates too hot to be used as a proper tablet, and the screen and keyboard is too small to type comfortably. The battery life is average for PC standards (3 hours of use), but way behind that of Android tablets. I intended to get it as a substitute for my old 15.6" laptop and my Asus eee Pad Slider SL101 (which was a terrific tablet with a very nice keyboard for Android tablet standards), so I wouldn't have to carry two devices with me all the time.

Big mistake.

Now I have something that's not quite a Windows laptop, but also not quite a tablet either, whilst wishing that I had spent that $2000 on a laptop and an Android tablet instead, possibly even with money to spare!

Also, Windows 8/8.1 has terrible backwards compatibility with XP based VNs. I've practically stopped playing Clannad (and stopped reading manga online) because of it.

TL;DR: Don't get a hybrid Windows 8 machine unless you're fully satisfied with what you're dealing with. Most likely, getting a Windows laptop and an Android tablet as two separate devices will get the job done much quicker, better, and cheaper.

I've already set my DPI to 150%, but context menus and operations designed to be used with a mouse are still very hard to use such as long press for right click, drag and drop, application switching and pinch to zoom. With Android I could set multi touch gestures for many things and use all different kinds of launchers. Now I'm stuck with the Metro "interface", which only spans the Start Menu substitute, PC Settings and some edge swipe menus.
