What happened in 2006? Read the top link. It's phenomenal that stuff like this isn't analyzed and thought about on a daily basis.

But yeah, what is with the 'trash' that keeps comming out? Well...maybe if people looked at stuff that more or less detailed about how the anime bubble burst and lost massive amounts of money in 2006 etc it may be easier to see why many series are going for 'safe investment' structure.

I have thought about this, and noticed a marked uptick in content in the past 3 years or so, and that chart seems to agree. One aspect there that the link doesn't mention is that you can just plain saturate a market. When you have too many choices, some people end up choosing none. So the knee jerk reaction is to do what you mention and play it safe, resulting in the exact same market we see for movies and games in the US. I haven't gone to the movies since Gravity was out, and I used to go every other week or so, and mostly it's due to having too many "block-busters" that are let-downs. Then they give hardly any advertising for the lower budget movies that actually might be good.

The saving grace of anime may be that it's based on manga, which is still cheap and easy to produce, so the imagination from the talent pool is not suffocated as much. Whereas in Hollywood, basing a movie on a best seller isn't even good enough anymore.

*edit* I'd love to see an article that explains what happened between '00 and '01, that's quite an explosion for something that's been around for decades. Could the introduction of the DVD be responsible?

This hits home 1000%, In that it happened of personal choosing, but the day I realized it, it was weird.

I've noticed how I act and address people sometimes and that it is described perfectly in this quote. I see them as 'transparent' beings that while I still need to half-ass address, are nothing that matter. I see them as sheep....as transparent people.

Well on your way to being dead inside like me. Welcome to the club? lol cheer up panda

Nisekoi remains being nice but it's soooo predictable.

To be fair, how do you think the people who read the manga felt?  I mean, I like the anime, and well there is nothing Studio Shaft can't make absolutely ******* amazing but so far it has followed the manga incredibly well.  If it only follows the manga...

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
ICHIJOU IS STILL NOT WITH ONODERA BY THE 107th ******* EPISODE!

That aside though...  I actually wish it would deviate a little more.

Are the kara no Kyoukai movies worth watching?

So tomorrow I'll be going to this audio convention....any tips for someone who has never been to something similar?

Marathon all of them and get pissed off that you have to wait 17 days for the 8th movie to come out on Blu-ray and you will have to wait a couple more days from there to get a copy of it over the interwebs.

Don't forget that Ichijou is still dating his blonde girlfriend - for 3 years all up. Then don't forget the main point of the story is which lock from the 3 girls can open his pendant - which has been de-railed with off topic filler's at the moment.

3/4 through the first book(volume) of Utsuro no Hako.

The PDF is 293 pages long. The text size is quite big though, not uber big but ...big enough. If this was a 'regular' book text size etc. I wold pin it at 150 pages approx. Still quite long though.

Anyway, I approve. I really really approve. Not fantastic, but ...it's so bat schiit insane at times and 'realistic in its actions' that its approved.

I know what you are saying, but still I wish more would happen than just Kirisaki realizing that she actually likes Ichijou.  Honestly though, the fight is between only Kirisaki and Onodera, no way Tachibana is going to be the girl.  Honestly, she is kinda pointless and not a very likable character.  Anyway, no matter what is in the pendent or who can open it, I'd like Ichijou to end up with Onodera, but that is only my opinion.

Unless it turns into a harem, I have a gut feeling that there is going to be another girl that Ichijou met and gave a key to his pendent when he was a kid. Given the sales pitch of the series in Japan and anime adaptation I don't think the mangaka is going to stop anytime soon, 100 chapters or so is still too early to end it off for a manga like this. I also second Onodera and Ichijou getting together/confessing sometime towards the end but I have a gut feeling that his pendent is accessible by all 3 keys (maybe a 4th too if my assumption above turns out true) and boom behold a harem which is what this manga's genre is also based on too.

Kara no Kyoukai... what a poetic series..it's so bland...yet interesting...I'm not sure I can describe it. I'm satisfied.

And I really like ufotable's style, not sure why. Guess I'll need to find something else by ufotable.

IF it turns into a harem...  LMFAO.  Already is, I mean lets see who like Ichijou: Onodera (BOTH OF THEM,) Kirisaki, Tachibana, and Tsugumi.  There, I have listed all main female characters that aren't there just to push others onto him (Miyamoto and Paula.)

Remember, that's in Hong Kong dollars. HK$1000 is about US$130.

Well, Ufotable is basically a guarantee of first class anime to me.

Oh look, it's Punpun: The Novel Version!

The music in the first Kara no Kyoukai movie sounds like something out of a Madoka episode.

Can't wait for 4G and 128GB microSD. Anime on the go at full HD sounds like fun. I am unable to get MX player to send audio through USB OTG it seems though.
