Welp. That moment when your phone freezes up for the second time this week, and you wake up an hour and a half late. Yay for freaking my mom out when I didn't answer her calls...
And yay for not making it to class!
or someone else, could you help me with this diff. eq problem (#22)? It's probably pretty easy but my mind is dead and gone tonight. Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
Isn't it just variable seperable? It's equivalent to solving the integral
1/(y(1-y)) dy == a dt (where a = alpha)
It's an ugly integral, but it can probably be solved by substituting y = cos(u)^2, dy = -sin(u)cos(u) du, we'd get:
-1/(cos(u)^3 sin(u)^3)du = -8/(sin(u)^3) du hmm, that doesn't work. Then let's split the fraction
A/y + B/(1-y) = 1/(y(1-y)):
A - Ay + By = 1, giving A = 1, B =1, and hence it becomes
1/y + 1/(1-y) dy == a t
ln(y) - ln(1-y) = a t
The rest is algebra,
y/(1-y) = exp (a t)+C
Set y(0) = y0:
y0/(1-y0) = 1+C
C = (1-2y0)/(-1+y0)
y = (C+exp(a t)) / ( 1 + c + exp(a t))
Real protip: Don't study the night before at all. Start two weeks in advance and use the day before to relax as much as you possibly can to get to the exam as fresh and rested as possible. That's what I always do, and I guess it works quite alright.
I could help you study if you want. Then again, doing so over Skype wouldn't be too efficient.
Ah yup, thanks! My mind was fried since it was late at night and I couldn't really think very well.
That... Seems like an excellent idea! I should do that for my computer science midterm.
I doubt that would work well, considering (just based on my casual observation) you sign into Skype generally sometime between midnight and 2AM here, which would equate to 3AM-5AM Bowei's time.
Urgh, Android free navigation app are just not up to par to what I'm used to on my Symbian phone. True Nokia Maps on it is was actually Nokia putting its weight into mapping, so independent app developers relying on open source maps is no match, but really, must the search engine be so painful? Why can't it be just one search bar, instead of incrementally (decrementally?) search by country, then city, street... strangely it works differently for Malaysian address.
Was thinking so much of just getting a WP8 just for Nokia mapping and navigation suite. But then all those Humble Bundle Android games I have...
Yes I realize that comparing to say OsmAnd to Nokia Maps is unfair, since the latter is a huge company sponsored app, so maybe I should compare Nokia Maps to say Sygic or that TomTom app that's actually decent too, but holy hell the prices for the piecemeal in app purchases are going to rack up fast into nopenopenope territory.
Google Maps? Really?
Well, I guess I've never tried the offline mode... Is coverage really spotty in Malaysia?
How is it not being able to run any modern apps?
My biggest problem with windows update is the fact it does it at like 3AM without telling you. Usually I leave my monitors on sleep at night instead of turning them off, so it will wake me up in the middle of the night with blinding computer light. Now multiply this by three computers and you get a very angry person who has to log into all of them the next day.
ok..... now that Apple Effed up my server with its stupid update, I'm prepared to switch to Linux / Unix with a fresh installation.
problem is.... which distro do I get???
Here's some of them I'm considering right now...
- CentOS (I know my school uses this)
Well I guess it depends on who you ask, but to paraphase what one of my linux friends said and add in some of my own stuff:
Ubuntu is supposedly really inefficient with it's unity interface thing. Maybe look into a similar version like Xubuntu or Lubuntu that uses a different GUI? Or mint?
Arch is one of the most elitist distros out there. I got pissed off trying to set everything up so I quit and went to one of those ubuntu variants on my home server.
What the actual ****?!
Amazon is trolling my super hard!
First I got this recording interface for €350 instead of the €130 drumcomputer I ordered and now they send me TWO sets of speakers instead of ONE!
They only charged me for one set so......
I can't believe how lucky I'm sometimes.
LOL nice, their distribution system must be really messed up. Order more things!
Meh powered monitors though... :/
Good god, was part of your building wired with CAT3 or something?
I am too, and I'm not surprised.
