Dayum. Witch Craft Works is strangely good. Third episode was a bit awkward with the huge amount of exposition but stuff like the first flying scene....... J.C. Staff suddenly has budget. Generally funny too. Not a complete subversion of the whole magical girlfriend genre like some people say but still very amusing.

Looks like Kill la Kill going to picking up the pace soon. Maybe see the new OP by Toku next episode?

Hikage best imouto. Seriously, love her VA.

Why does China need it's own set of human "rights"? Is it really that special? I honestly don't think it is anymore.

I'm just not buying their arguments.
You always make it sound like the PRC is just a scared and helpless little puppy that is in constant fear of being swallowed by the bigger dogs around it.
It's time for them to snap out of this victim mentality. Possible that a lot of these horrible crimes were necessary to grant the stability of the country like 50 years ago.
But now?

Bitcoins, Dogecoins, Litecoins etc are soooo confusing....All this mining, peer-to-peer, special software, trading stuff on weird websites, wallets etc etc....

What is your defintion of human rightS? Who has the right to make the doctrine of what human rights is? Is the international communitiies current approval of human rights an agreed upon idea or something diplomatic or forced? These are all questions I ask in the first place.

Which specific cases of these violations do you need elaboration on? I can help you out.

It's an idea of thinking that I don't think you can wrap your head around. Politicans and countries don't think in the way you do. They use analysis, quantatiative measurements and past history and expeirences. Cencorship is a much easier short term policy.

I can elaborate later, I'm in class. PRC isn't a helpless puppy.

That is one problem with how hands off China has been.

Machiavellian policies have been beneficial to most countries that have done them before. Meaning, a lot of violence in a short period of time to get great gains because people often forget.

I would say that it is an idea that everyone agrees upon because most of it it common sense like "it's really not okay to silence people just because they say things that you don't want them to say".

Why would I pick a specific case if all of these violations are happening there almost daily? I honestly don't know how the government want's to justify them.

I really really don't think that everything the Chinese government is doing, happens based on statistics etc.
Last time I checked, China had a pretty big problem with corruption.

Exactly, the PRC is not a helpless and scarred puppy. Why is it still acting like one? You are saying that all these "violations" happen just because the government is in constant fear that their country will fall apart any minute and then get swallowed by the western world.

@everyone in HK now

OMG!!!! I just caught a glimpse of a poster for Oda Nobuna no Yabou (織田信奈の野望) whilst I was on a bus!!!!

It's a shame I didn't have the time to read its contents or even take a pic of it......

If any of you ever see that poster, please take a pic and post it here :p

Still, it's great seeing a poster of a non-mainstream anime on the streets~

Have you visited China or any other developing Asian countries? (and not just dicked around in capital cities and touristy locations)

They've got bigger fish to fry than to tackle censorship/all the things you've mentioned, change doesn't happen overnight, and now is as good a time as any to be born in China, or anywhere in the world, really.

You can't hold them to the same standards, it'll take at least a few decades for them to 'catch up' with the developed countries.

News is pretty much always a selectively manipulated perspective. In this case, I was actually referencing that one news article that caught my eye because a bunch of people in Hong Kong used Attack on Titan stuff as part of their protest. I can't find the exact article, but here's some other related stuff:

Holy FUDGE!!! Is that really what's happening here??
I had no idea because I'm practically cut off from HK's information networks. (can't read chinese)

I've only been dicking around in HK and Beijing so far.
I still don't understand why everyone is saying that China needs another twenty years or so to "catch up". China is more powerful and advanced than so many other countries on this planet. Countries that do not rely on censorship etc

@Narnia-Man
So do I...even though I did not go to university today. Which might explain why I'm writing so much nonsense here (^o^)

No classes on Friday? Lucky.

We just got upgraded monitors here at my office. 2 Dell P2414H's (24" 1920x1080). This was an upgrade from 16:10, 1600x900, 19" monitors. Needless to say, they feel HUGE on my desk. They're too wide, the LCD backlight is too blue, and it's messing up my "system"! I have adjusted the colors already and white pages look white now, still messing with the backlight so that it doesn't burn out my retinas.

Daaamn, you're lucky. I'm really happy now that the P-series monitors are turning into lower-end Ultrasharps while Ultrasharps are becoming only the higher up Ultrasharps with stuff like 10-bit hardware calibration/LUT. Much easier to tell what is what now.

I just hate how Dell is ditching 16:10. Golden ratio ftw.

Yeah it's amazing how well these companies have done keeping the costs up on the UHD monitors, you'd think Acer or someone would have snuck in a 1440P 27" for ~$299 to disrupt the market by now.

I was in the hardcore 16:10 club until I got my U2713H at home. At that size, the ratio became a non-issue to me.

Hmmm I'm kind of losing interest in Kill la Kill. Can't quiet put my finger on why....
I guess the initial "WOW WTF"-factor of the animations and the general artstyle is starting to vanish and the story really isn't one that is fascinating me that much.

Agenda for next weekend:
Celebrate brothers birthday
Visit the Norddeutsche Hifi-Tage convention in Hamburg :3

Most of the stuff they are going to show there are stupidly expensive speakers/turntables etc, but there will also be companies like Sennheiser, Fiio, AK etc there.

I think it's the lack of a clear goal in Kill La Kill. I mean, where are they going with this? The original goal (Ryuuko finding the person she was looking for) is kind of a non issue at this point..... so what now, why should we care?

Your agenda looks awesome. I would love to attend a good HiFi show and hear things from MBL (german I think?), KEF, Boulder, darTZeel, etc. (take pics if you see any of these companies TYG wink.gif )

KEF is going to have a booth there but I'm not so sure about the other brands.

Do you know what I'll check out for sure?
These monstrosities:

What am I even looking at here?!
Super high-end speakers are scary.

So that most likely means the character isn't Yuki Nagato, but Tissue Hime - the crossplaying bassist from NicoNico.

...so yeah, it's a trap. *admiralackbar.jpg*
Wonder if it's an accident, or if it's not one. Maybe someone at FiiO is a fan? ;-P

Ah, good catch there good sir...

Suddenly I don't want the anime skin for the X5... :|
