lol I know, I guess I'm thorough or just not very good... Are you still on? going to log in now. Though I have zero clue how to play together etc.

Yup it's called Simoun. It's about airplanes too (or air ships or wtv...), and only children (before choosing a gender) can pilot them.

Ahh I see, I see

I'll be online in an hour or two :D I'm Kingbowness add me

Man this reminds me of playing with Jgray last year :D He can't do it anymore as he moved and is on South East Asia server (we call it SEA)

Ahh yeah, I looked into it last night, doesn't seem to be my thing

V-MODA Crossfade M-100 + JDS Labs C5D on max bass boost = super satisfying rumbling when you face smash an enemy or an explosion happens

The stuff I saw on it didn't interest me. Plus, I don't have an Xbox controller for the PC :/

This is why the show reminded me a lot of "A Brave New World", because of the relative lack of sexual restrictions placed on people. This seems to be quite common in utopias/dystopias though, either as a right of the people (if they're not forced to) to love whoever they want whenever they want, or as a way to help subdue people (if they're forced to pick mates), because if all you're thinking about is love, you're not thinking about the crappy government. Now I'm not sure which one SSY is; it seems there are certain points when people have to "partner up" for group projects or whatever, but I'm not sure if there are deeper social implications there in that people are being "forced" to confess to the people they love or not.

And yes, as Saki presumably marrying the guy at the end of the show, or at least having a baby implies, they do acknowledge that having offspring regardless of orientation is important.

Yep, that was damn brilliant. There were many times throughout the show where I thought the bakenezumi's progression was a lot like humanity's. I never expected it though. The shift from the queen to democracy definitely parallels most of our societies shifting from monarchies to democracies, especially in the 19th and 20th centuries. And of course, firearms and gunpowder and all that stuff. I'm not sure what the girl really represents though, other than possibly the fact that more and more humans are becoming atheist?

What the... Why is that three spoilers?

HF does that now

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
I think them using the human child represents not just atheisim but a break between humanity and the gods. That today in our 'world', we are doing practices and things that we supposedly either learned or were given from the Gods or were able to gain, apart from the Gods. The examples being surgery, modern medicine, airplanes etc. STuff that used to be the Gods powers, and for the Gods to decide, now in human hands.

Squealer/Yakomaru said that bakenezumi could replicate human remains from the skeletons of their taller deceased, due to the similarity.

The anime later on said that they were legit legit killed by the Meerkats somehow. Probably during childbirth or whatever when they were at the weakest they were shot or poisoned with schiit.

Exactly like Vortex Said but shorter

Yeah lol, when I heard the Kaguya I was like....yeah......hmmm.

Ooooooooook. I was probably being a bit harsh with the whole bad directing thing. Thinking about it now, my issue with Hikuushi is probably more due to the combination of low budget, the fact that the base setup actually has potential but was instead turned into a ridiculous trope-fest, and because it looks like Bland Anime No.91209. I know Nisekoi is pretty damn tropey as well, but at least it has some flair.

Super low framerate + Simple scene composition + Static objects or characters + Colorful decorations or light effects -> Shaft's low budget animation

Apparently neither of the two is of high budget project. I think Nisekoi has more "shiny" presentation, but also Hikuushi has more natural or smoother animation. More of a matter of preference.

By the way, I guess I will be pretty ok when most of the shows are like Hikuushi's one, but probably not so for Nisekoi.

Went Googling for the Psycho Pass Super Oats picture and found this:

Can't remember if someone else linked it muuuuuuch earlier in the thread. I think the picture was linked anyway. But hilarious, and somehow the lyrics work so well!!!

Also, Sekai Seifuku is officially my favorite premiere this season. Hope it keeps it up so I can start saying it's the best show of 2014 in mega-font.

I am very disappoint X(

Much better to listen to the original and sing along with the picture. At least the caption makes fun of itself.
But SHAFT budget works super well with SHAFT style of directing, so SHAFT wins. :P

So is there any sort of timetable (site) for anime this season? Or for anime past and/or forthcoming season for that matter. PUT IT IN THE FIRST POST PLOX http://www.mahou.org/Showtime/Planner/ <-- better

Finished Toradora.
I enjoyed this anime. Really nothing outstanding though.
A bit overly dramatic here and there IMO
And the last episode was...

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
....almost Oreimo-stupid.
That made no sense at all.
At least they did not ruin the whole end (well maybe for the people who missed out on the two minutes after the ED)

Not so sure for me D:

I like Arakawa, Hidamari Sketch, Soredemo Machi wa Mawatteiru, very much, but the famous Bakemonogatari was just "not bad" to me.

Don't know how to say on your favorite SZS though = =

Just found this. Neat, but I can't click on the text besides the check box to check the box? Fail. :P

Nah, it's fine for granular tracking of specific series you're already following, I feel, whereas my link was more for overall.

If anything, whenever it gets boring, seeing how SHAFT does crazy **** is the next best thing before a drop. Do not ask a fanboy how he feels about his fanboy series lol.

My top 10 early picks (non-sequels/continuations and in alpha. order) after 1-2 episodes for this season are:

D-Frag
Mahou Sensou
Nisekoi
Noragami
Nourin
Sekai Seifuku
Space Dandy
Wake Up Girls
Witch Craft Works
Wizard Barristers

What you see here are a lot school-life comedies. There are a few reasons for this: 1) School Life Comedy has a wide appeal and is easy to digest, aka after only 1-2 episodes you can tell what the rest will be like, there probably won't be any surprises re: plot depth/direction. 2) I like Moe 3) I like Comedy. I'm not afraid to admit it either wink.gif

*P.S. I am not giving these an unconditional vote of confidence, my experience tells me that 9/10 of these will be getting 6 or 7/10 ratings. These are just the types of shows where if someone asks "what should I watch?" it would be easy to rec. these and have them find at least a couple that they would enjoy.

*P.P.S. This list will be completely useless to Tilpo.

You would recommend people shows that you rated with a 6 or a 7?
That is cruel.

You are not actually following someone with the name Kawaii_OtakuGirl~X, right?

Damn, I was about to drop Super Sonico.... but then considering that they're actually doing music (Unlike the huge disappointment known as K-ON!!) I guess I'll hold on to it for a bit longer...

Oh and their stylized credits looks like compression artifacts.....

Yes, on my scale 5 = meh but watchable, 6 = good, 7 =great.... basically everything starts as a 7, then moves up or down from there. I would rec. a 7 all day any day. There are many great shows out there, just less awesome/fantastic/art (8,9,10) shows. It keeps my ratings on MAL legitimate. If everything I liked or would recommend was an 8-10, the truly deserving shows would get burried. That's why I only have like 6 10s on my list.

@jgray91; Yes.

Yay~ another imperial scale user :p

(I personally don't rate anime because I found it nearly impossible to standardize them.)
